This is a generic for the antibiotic Augmentin, it can be used to treat various types of infections. It may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.

However, you shouldn't take it, unless your doctor or dentist has confirmed the presence of an infection and prescribed it to treat it. Doing otherwise creates the risk of your developing antibiotic resistant bacteria.
Additionally, there has to be some underlying cause for a tooth to abscess, such as a deep cary and that must be corrected by your dentist, or the infection will just keep recurring.
