Aloprazam 5mg Does It Contain Sulfa

I am allergic to sulfa based meds and recently was prescribed xanax .5mg in the generic form. I have broken out in a rash and just wondered if it might be sulfa related.

No, it is not, but there is a chance you could be allergic to it, too. Usually, when someone is allergic to one medication, or one category of medications, it is fairly common to discover more that they are allergic to, according to the FDA. Goodness knows, I have a collection going. LOL A very long list of stuff I can't take.

It would be best to have the rash checked out by your doctor, because there is a chance it might not be related to the medication, but if it is an allergic reaction, they tend to get worse with repeated exposure, so you'll have to stop taking it and try a different medication.
