I have been taking 50mg/day of Allopurinol for the past two-3 months however, my doctor, upon checking my feet at my last office visit, changed my dose to 300 mg/day. Are there any side effects I need to be aware of especially at this increase?MPHP
For anyone else seeking information…
The most severe problem that higher doses of Allopurinol may cause in some people is a hypersensitivity syndrome, so it's very important to contact your doctor immediately if you experience a fever, rash and/or yellowing of the skin.
You can learn more Allopurinol details here.
It should also not be used by pregnant women, or those trying to conceive.
Are there any comments or questions? Is there anything I can help with?
