Allopurinol Side Effects Mainly Acid Reflux

After 6 mos on 300 mg allopurinol, headaches still occur, sometimes migraines, acid reflux has gotten worse and worse, never was a problem before. Was put on tecta for that, am allergic to it, only on one week caused hives, itching, dizziness sometimes with spinning vertigo, so no more of that one. I am wondering if anyone with these problems had them lessen when changing to uloric. It is supposed to have fewer side effects.

There is also a risk of it causing side effects, which the NIH lists as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, GERD, dry mouth, and changes in urination. That is just the nature of adding a chemical to the body to try to correct a problem.

Have you started taking it, yet? If so, has there been any change? Are you on any other medications?
