Allergies To Amoxicillin

I am allergic to amoxicillin, and my doctor gave me augmentin. I did not know this antibiotic contained amoxicillin (and I am guessing he overlooked it), and it almost killed me. If you get this, make sure you are not allergic to any of the cillin drugs~

Yes, Augmenting contains Amoxicillin with Clavulanic Acid and should not be used if you are allergic to any of the ingredients.

The safest thing to do is to make sure that your pharmacy records your allergy in their computer system, that way all medications will be checked against this information and if they find something that isn't safe for you to take, they will not give you the prescription and will contact your doctor for an alternative.

I am sorry to hear you had such a problem, but in the future, make sure that you do what I stated above, to avoid the problem.
