Allergic To Keflex

I'm allergic to Keflex and Penicillin.. Can I take macrobid?

Macrobid contains Nitrofurantoin, so it is a different antibiotic. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and stomach pain.

However, since you are allergic to the others, there is a risk of your also being allergic to the Macrobid. A person who is allergic to one or more medications usually discovers more that they are allergic and have bad reactions to.
