Aldara Injuries

I used aldara and have surffered from many side effects for the past two years. I have had constant muscle, joint, bone and skin pain for two years. I also suffered from digestive disorders including severe constipation. I have also had problems with my blood pressure and fainting. I was wondering if anyone else out there suffered from injuries like mine. I am signed in for a class action suit. Just wondering how many others have had this sort of problems after using aldara.

Also I was treated for Afib before using aldara, but it was controlled with meds. Its seems to be worse now, as well at the passing out episodes that began during aldara treatments.

Aldara contains topical Imiquimod, it is an immune response modifier that is used to treat several skin conditions.

candle678, except for the fainting and blood pressure changes, the other problems that you have described are all listed as normal side effects in the patient monograph. So, people that use this are warned about them.

Did you speak to your doctor about the problems? 2 years seems a really long time to continue using something that made you that ill and miserable.


Please note, I am sorry to read of what you've been going through and I am not trying to make light of it or blame you, however, if your doctor kept insisting you use the medication, in spite of the problems, then I think you may also have an axe to grind with them.

I know there aren't a lot of other treatment options on the market, but it just seems like those are horrible things to make a person suffer through for such a long period of time. The symptoms you've described are worse than most of the conditions it is used to treat.

Have you stopped using it? Have the symptoms improved for you?

I'd hate to think that it might have caused any permanent problems.

It has been two years since I used aldara. I only used it for 6 of the 12 weeks it was prescribed.

I did speak to my doctor about my symptoms and she assured me it was not the aldara. I became so ill that I went to a different oncologists who urged me to stop using the medicine. My new oncologist insisted that the symptoms were caused by aldara.

I too used Aldara for several weeks. My entire body shut down and I ended up in the hospital with kidney failure and many other issues. My doctor said I was one day from dying. The doctors said I got drug induced Lupus from this drug. Since then my health has rapidly declined. I am going paralyzed in both legs and numbness in my hands and arms as well. I spoke to the gentleman in Texas about a pending lawsuit and sent him all of my information. He said they put law suit on hold. Can you please share with me who the law firm is working on the case. Sounds like you already submitted information to them. If it is a class action suit we will end up gettting probably $200 for our damages.So unfortunate..... I have $100K in doctors bills so far.

I too was poisoned by Aldara by a dermatologist who never warned about it nor how to properly apply. I ended up over using it on my face and i have become extremely ill for thepast 2months and I do not see any end in sight. Is anyone interested in a class action lawsuit and can Canadians, Americans and Australians ban together to sue 3M and can we all get the proper medical treatment once and for all? I USED ALDARA CREAM AND WAS PUT INTO AN OPEN WOUND ON 3 OR 4 OCCASIONS.I STARTED TO FEEL SICK AND STOPED IMMEDIATELY.HAD THE SIDE EFFECTS NOW FOR A MONTH,SORE THROAT,HEADACHES,MUSCLE PAIN ETC ETC.IS THIS REVERSIBLE OR IS THERE SOME TREATMENT THAT CAN BRING ME BACK TO NORMAL?PS TO WHOM REPLIES PLEASE GIVE A DIRECT ANSWER.MUCH APPRECIATED.LEONARD

Used aldara for genital warts for two weeks during this time i couldn't get an erection and for a week after i stopped using it and when i did get the first erection it was very painful after another week the pain stopped but i wasn't able
to get and keep a full erection i didnt go to the doctor because i thought these were side effects that would go away but its been three years and i still cant get a full erection.and i also itching in my groin area any other men have these problems.
