Alcohol And
Updatedwhy shouldn't you take nexium with alcohol, when alcohol gives you heartburn

Nexium treats heart burn symptoms as a result of excessive consumption of alcohol. Nexium prescription will reduce the severity of such symptoms. However prolonged use of this medicine is not advisable. In fact nexium pills show better relief from gastro esophageal reflux diseases (GERD) only.
Some users get really ill when combining alcohol and nexium, while this combination doesn't have the same effect on others.
Nexium (esomeprazole), however, is metabolized by the liver; so if you have a liver disease from too much alcohol, this would not be a wise choice. Additionally, in some people, alcohol can cause acid reflux to be worse. So while there isn't a drug interaction between Nexium and alcohol, it may cause you to have more symptoms.
I hope this info helps!
