Adderall, Risking Addiction-

I've been taking 20 Mg TID of IR generic Adderall > 10 Yrs. Although some "experts" claim they are very, very habit forming, I MUST disagree. Even after +10 Yrs, I have little problem discontinuing the drug at any point. The same goes for benzodiazepines. Possibly it's because I personally adhere or ingest < is directed or skip for weeks on end. This "abuse potential" may be inherent in some. Personally, I believe it is overstating this possibility to "play it safe". The statement, "Drug abusers typically have the tendency to increase the dosage on their own initiative". Which may be true. Most intellegent folks understand that doing that will simply decrease the effectiveness when it is REALLY NEEDED.

Hello, Kim! How are you?

Yes, a propensity for addiction can be hereditary, so it isn't as much of a problem for everyone. I stopped taking strong narcotics cols turkey after being on pain management for years and, after a few weeks of withdrawals, I never missed them and had no cravings. It's highly individualized.

The fact that you skip doses may also help prevent your becoming addicted or dependent on them.

Typical side effects for these medications, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, insomnia and weight loss.

Are there any questions or concerns?
