I have never done any type of street drug in my life with the exception of trying marijuana at 15 years old and that experience scared me to bad to ever try any thing else. I am a liver cancer patient currently just finished a round of radiation I also have rheumatoid and psoriatic arthritis and adhd as well as ocd. I also have to get blood transfusions every two weeks as of late it was only monthly. My question is I took a drug test that was one of those rapid test not sent to a lab. The test showed me positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine my pain meds oxycontin and percocet nor any of the meds for my cancer treatment and my r.a. were said anything about. I do and have been taking adderall before the shortage I took the regular now and for the last few months I have had to take the xr caps. My doctor says its the adderall they are seeing in the test that they need to send any test like that to the lab for a gas chromatography-mass spectrometry or gcms it is the only way to truly break down the different meds. Need to know if any one else has gone through this and who do I go to for help as far as proving myself because the test was thrown in the trash even though I ask for it to be sent to a lab or my doctor.

i have not takin addrall i 21 days will it show up when i go to the doctor for a blood test on my other meds

Whether you can pass the DOT physical will be at the discretion of the examining physician. If you are being prescribed the Adderall legally and the physician who prescribes it can provide a letter clearly showing that it is medically indicated and does not interfere with your ability to drive that may help.

Adderall itself does not reduce driving performance but if used to avoid getting adequate sleep you can become fatigued and an unsafe driver despite the stimulant effect of the drug. Be prepared to show that you adhere rigorously to the DOT regulations on rest and use your rest time to get at least 8 hours of sleep in each 24 hour period. This can be a challenge given the insistence of many employers on frequently changing your driving hours.
