Adco Napamol Tablet 500mg & Tramahexal 100mg

I have just been discharged from hospital and prescribed adco-namamol tablet 500mg & Tramahexal 100mg for severe back pain (osteoporosis with numerous crushed vertebrae & discs-upper & lower spine) How will this impact my IBS which at present is presenting with constipation. Dr said he'd give me something to counteract latter but cannot see that these 2 will be doing that. Your opinion please?

The problem here would be the Tramahexal, since it contains Tramadol, which the U.S. FDA classifies as an opiate pain reliever. It can actually cause constipation as a side effect, so it may worsen this problem for you.

It also carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause other side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth.

The Napamol just contains Paracetamol and its typical side effects usually include nausea, dizziness and headache.

What have you used to try to alleviate the constipation? Do fiber supplements help?
