No, the only time released formulation of Oxycontin that is currently available are the name brand tablets manufactured by Purdue Pharma. Due to the increasing theft and diversion of this opiate, the generics were removed from the market several years ago, in order to enable the manufacturer, FDA and DEA to keep better track of the supply.

The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
