Zyrtec Side Effects

My son has been on Zyrtec for a while now and seems to stay agitated most of the time. When I asked the dr. about this I was told there were no side effects so we decided his mood changes were due to being a teenager. A few weeks ago a friend of mine said her child was coming off of the Zyrtec because since being on it he had become so mean she couldn't stand it. This really concerns me and I would like to know if there is anything else we should try.

Agitation is absolutely a possible side effect. It is not one of the most common ones but it is one along with confusion. Check it out on this website.

It is also possible for you to have reactions that some other people wouldn't, it depends on your own body, everyone can react to a med differently.

You had a problem with it, but my son started taking this for seasonal allergies when he about 5 years old, and he is now 11, and he never had any side effects from it.
