can i use zymaxid in place of vigamox?

They are two different medications, though they treat the same conditions.

Zymaxid contains Gatofloxacin and Vigamox contains Moxifloxacin.

Your pharmacy can't just make a switch though, your doctor would have to approve it. There might be a reason they prefer one over the other, since some are found to be better at treating certain conditions.

My 21 month old son has a bacterial eye infection & was prescribed Vigamox. However the insurance pharmacy I go to only covers Zymacid & I am very hesitant in using it & am just thinking of purchasing the eye drops.
