Zydus 10mg Oxycodone Underdosed? (Page 5) (Top voted first)

Hello all. For the last 6 months, i've been prescribed various meds/treatments/pain meds for severe head pressure and neck pain. I had to stop taking any form of Hydrocodone because it makes my skin breakout in open sores (gross, i know). On May 6th, my PCP prescribed me Oxycodone 10mg 4times daily with great results and it made me very fuctional. He gave me another script for the same medication and when i went to the pharmacy, they filled it and when i got home, i notices the tablets/drug company was different. Well, was i in for a suprise. The new generics my pharmacy had were made by Zydus Pharmaceuticals and are imported from India? Well, to say the least, i've been taking almost twice my dosage to get the same effect. There's no way on earth that my tolerance doubled in less than a day! Now, my PCP thinks i'm trying to get more pills, and the pharmacy thinks i'm crazy. The first prescrption i got the 10mg oxycodone from this manufacturer: KVK Tech Inc (pink and "k 56" imprint on them. And they worked fabulous. These Zydus ones seem wayyyy underdosed as i'm taking around 5-6 tabs compared to 4 tabs of the KVK Tech brand. Any info/advice is greatly appreciated!

Please report to FDA? I'm going to and EVERYONE really needs to...I had the same thing. 1time on another med, Wellbutrin, I thought I was going nuts and to find out it was recalled from that co. For not being equivalent to name brand!!! We're not crazy but need to do something so report it! Thx

That means that 4-10% of the pill is oxycodone and the rest is fillers. This percentage has nothing to do with the amount of miligrams (strength) of the pill. It means that the 10mg of oxycodone (the active ingredient) only makes up 4 to 10% of the mass of the pill, the rest of the pill is fillers and binders (inactive ingredient). If you dont believe me go to the website for the brand that you like more and look up their safety data sheet for their drug and you will see the same kind of information. It does not mean that you are only getting 4-10% of what they promised you haha. Hope this clears that up

Yes I was prescribed 4 10 mg of this product. It is supposed to relieve my pain (I had kidney transplant 6days ago) they only gave me relief for 1 to sometimes 2 hours. Only made the pain tolerable. Because I am on methadone 25mgs. Daily for nueropathy the doctors feel I might overdose. They r fools. I got some 7.25 norco and 3 every 4 hours does the trick. I think U.S. should stop doing business with India and other countries who manufactures medication. It is like Russian roulette for sure. Money is the name of the pharmaceutical game. And we who have chronic pains or major surgeries or past addictions suffer for this. Doctors in U.S. r being lied 2 behind money. I know this for every person who suffers because of incompetent doctors will not get the last laugh. God will see 2 this. Thank you.

Not to go off Zydus, I was prescribed 20mg Oxycodone. I went to the pharmacy and looked at the bottle, saw the usual grey pills, same size, and looked like the KVK version, but when I got home I noticed there was no K on them. Never leave your pharmacy before asking what brand they are, because I took 5 with no relief at all. It was made by a company called Sun. Absolutely trash. I got stuck with 180 worthless pills. After investigating, I read a story on how the DEA raided a pill mill & confiscated 30 million dollars with the ingredients to manufacture drugs.

Well, just got my script filled and it's the Zydus brand with 12 on one side, pink & N P on the other. They seem fine vs. other brands I've tried. It appears they may have gotten better, as I see these posts are from 2014 & 2013. Can anyone else verify the brand is ok now just in case I got lucky?

I've had very good luck with them so far (knock on wood) lol. I'm wondering if it's batch based & some people are getting worse batches from different factories maybe? I couldn't figure out why so many people hated them & 8 saw many posts from this year.

It's not in your head. They are not as good. I know for a fact! You must tell your pharmacy you don't want that brand anymore! People who are in great pain like myself know if they don't work as well and you are right, you have to take more than usual. Mornings, I have to double the dose just to make it! Horrible brand and at first I thought it was a placebo!

I TOTALLY agree! I was getting 7.5/325 totally fine. Then I got a brand ALVOGEN and they SUCKED... instead of 4 I had to take 8 to get the same amount of pain relief. So I went to my pharmacy, they told me they can only block that brand from being filled for me again... I was NOT happy with that. So I went to my Dr. He wrote me a new script for 10mg (no acetaminophen) I ended up getting ZYDUS. PHARM & THEY SUCK!!!! I KNOW my tolerance levels can POSSIBLY change, BUT I also know that I usually take 4-6 months before needing a slight increase in dosage. MAYBE if you return what you have left, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE PROOF, your Dr. will write a new script. Also, I found out that we can have our pharmacy BLOCK ALL GENERIC MEDICATIONS, which I will now be doing. Good luck!

You are not crazy. Been taking plaquenil for years, Brand name, and generic. I had no problem until a week ago when they gave me Zydus generic plaquenil. From the first pill to today, it's like I'm not taking Medicine. The pharmacist thinks I'm crazy, and got smart with me. YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

It's not really the pharmacy's fault, it's the insurance companies and the government regulators that are screwing us. I just got another batch of Zydus oxycodone's and like last month these also suck! I take 40mg's of Oxymorphone that works great 90 percent of the time and I used to take an oxy 15 now and then for breakthrough pain and they worked great.Now my pharmacy gave me the Zydus 10.s and last month I had a really bad day and ended up eating 12 of the Zydus 10's within a hour and then googled the pill after 2 hours wondering if I was accidentally given childrens Tylenol or something. 120mgs of oxycodone and didn't even feel it? Something is not right here. I ask the Pharmacist about the same thing with the Adderall and he told me he never knows what brands he is going to get from month to month so for instance if he gets three bottles of say 1000 adderall's one brand may cost him 300.00 for a thousand another brand 400.00 for a thousand and the last bottle of really good but still generic may cost 900.00. Now pay attention because this is why we get crappy meds! He charges you your co-pay, say 5 bucks for 60 pills then sends Medicare-Cade Obamacaid a bill for the rest + a small profit but The Carekaides will only pay him 300.00 a bottle so he has to wheel and deal and hope he doesn't loose his ass so he can supply you with anything. This is why the Rite aids' and Wal-Marts' stopped carrying most meds they don't make a bunch of money on. At least I got a good batch of Adderall this month or I wouldn't be posting this :)

Did you ever get them tested? I've been getting This darn brand for a year and no pharmacy will order a different brand for me. They do not work at all!!!!!

What pharmacy carries the zydus brand they work so much better I need zydus oxycodone 10 mg I came seem to find them. Three other brands don't work for me

You are absolutely correct! I have been taking KVK 20mg Oxycodone Brand for a few years. It has been great for my Neuropathy pain relief! Today I received for the first time the Zydus brand from CVS pharmacy. I did not realize they were different until I took the second one in my mouth. I am so angry because they do not work!! End of story! They just do not work. I called my pain management doctor and they said they had been getting this same complaint from other patients. I called the CVS pharmacist and she said she had no control over what the CVS company was buying. So the good news is that I am aware of this problem and only have to endure for one month. Next month I can go back to Walgreens for the KVK brand!

We are not taking up for the pharmaceutical company, we all want relief but I would love to get all my medicine not just my one pain meds I am on in brand name, but good luck getting a doctor to write it for brand only. As I mention everyone body is different, some have low tolerance for pain medicine, some have high tolerance, but we as you have are now checking around to find ones made here in the USA and when I read not one or two pharmaceutical companies have jumped up there prices by 400% and yes they need to be investigated and one of those is for those going through chemo treatments and you go in expecting to pay the $1300 you have been paying to hear I am sorry it's now $4000+. Can you imagine a loved one already being sick with cancer and that's like a slap to the face that these pharmaceutical companies care more about the all mighty dollar than one's life. Shame on them and I hope they give them the highest fine ever to make them go bankrupt. My personal opinion only but yes it is a shame they put out crap pain meds and know most people need it, yet a cancer patient has to spend over $4000 on a generic medicine that has god only knows what. So yes I will keep looking and am going to ask my primary to write all of my medicine in brand name form. It may cost me more but at least I am getting something from the USA and not have to worry what's in the generic brand and if I sound upset yes I am very upset. I just returned from not just my father's funeral but my brothers also, that was a double blow and I know I am venting but I am grieving and I know it has nothing to do with this site so I am sorry for going off track so it's best I log off.

Red Bear, X star, imo the best Ms contin is Mallinkrofdt. The ones that say endo on the pill have been purchased by qualitest. They are average. For the P 10/325, I got Ip 204 two times and the first batch was not good at getting at my pain. 2 months later I got the ip 204 10/325 and they worked really well. It seems I can only get my preferred Mallinkrofdt for Ms contin from Costco, then I hafta run across street to get the yellow Alvogen for my P.10/325. They seem to be the best right now. I have not been able to find the Endocet Percocet for 1 year now, I'm beginning to think that I probably will never get that brand again.

OK I did research and was told CVS would order what ever generic brand you want not true but the best is by greenstone based here in the USA and was told if you ask they will or supposed to order what you know works best for you but I read the pharmaceutical companies out of Australia and Austria are charging outrages prices they went up on some medicine 400 & there is a big investigation but I will keep checking to see who carries greenstone but KVK are the worst and I am on only 10 mg but got zydus and have no problem but still rather get my meds from the USA

It is written on front or maybe on back but it will have it under like my is under the mg but it could be anywhere on bottle but it is there or look under the name of medicine I am still going to check on greenstone for this pharmaceutical company zydus also is out of the USA but much better than the KVK so if I can't find greenstone I will stay with this generic brand I am on it 4 ,times a day but for 10mg I have only had to take 2 a day one early am after breakfast and then around 4 pm but I am on xanau also and found out you don't take those two close together or both at same time for me anyway it counteract the other meds and I know I can't have grapefruit with xanau but also found for me any citrus juice counteracts the xanau so it's always with water and even apple juice I can't drink with the xanau .But please all eat before you take your pain meds or at least drink milk or chocolate milk for it coats the stomach and you don't feel sick to your stomach I am no expert but for me this works but everyone's body is different
