Was on suboxone for over a year. Was switched to zubsolv for insurance purposes and it took a couple months but I think it's much better. Not only does it help the cravings it helps my chronic pain. Thank god for zubsolv. People just need to give it a chance.

I love zubsolv. Been on suboxone for two years and hated it. Zubsolv dissolves quick, tastes better, and no after taste. Sometimes I feel like I may need a little extra zubsolv, but so what?! I would much rather take an extra zubsolv than be high. Even if it was $1000 a month. Thats pocket change compared to my old habbit. I happen to be lucky enough to have insurance that pays for the script, but would be more than happy to pay if I HAD too.

It does burn a little for the first couple days but the burn goes away. Ever try chewing tobacco? It burns for the first couple times you use it then it goes away.... same thing.

You're finding spoons around the house cause he can IV his medication with either the subs or zubsolv or he may not be taking them if the spoons have white or orange powder he is doing his meds or other pills. Only way too beat this is to have him take it in front of you and stand there for 5 or 10 mins till it dissolves and keep your eyes on him whole time

I agree 100% about recovery being extremely sensitive. My recovery is anyway and I know my friends at meetings feel the same way. Recovery saved our lives. Not just the Suboxone. The subs played a huge part for me bc I couldn't make it through the horrible days of withdrawal. I would always end up taking something to relieve the symptoms and wind up right back where I was. Each withdrawal was worse too. They both save my life. The program and the suboxone. Zubsolv is very different from suboxone for me too.30 8 mg subs would last me well over 2 months. With the zubsolv I had to take 3x as much so 30 were gone very quickly. Suboxone is cheaper for me for that reason alone. Amen to recovery!!!

The longer I'm on the Zubs the better I seem to get, yet I'm taking more of the zub than I was the subs. I'm taking a full 5.7 sometime a little more. I was taking 2 to 4 mgs of subs. Zubsolv it not the same for me. I could skip days with my suboxone. I switched bc the zubsolv was suppose to save a little money since my ins stopped paing for my subs. It's actually going to cost more bc I'm taking a lot more. I have 8 subzolv left and 30 day script. Plus just got another script of suboxone from my doc yesterday. I'm going to try to give the zubs a little while longer to see if anything changes, but I'm probably going to end up back on subs. Good luck to everyone.

Have you taken both? I have.... and the zubs do not work for me. I was down to between 2 to 4 mgs of suboxone when my ins stopped paying. Started on 16mgs in 2008 in rehab. 3 weeks ago my doc switched me to the zubsolv 5.7 tabs. I was suppose to take 1/4 to 1/2 tab a day to be equivalent to the amount of subs I was taking. I did this for 2 days and on morning of day 3, I was in full withdraw. No joke. It was not in my head. I was kicking all night, very bad cramps, vomiting...it was horrible. I'm also going to add I was excited to switch bc my doc said the zubs were much better actually stronger and easier to get off of than the suboxone bc of how the body absorbs.I had not read anything online about zubsolv or anything else. I know better than to read everything on the web before trying it. I'm now taking 1 1/2 5.7 tabs a day and still mild symptoms. At this rate it will cost me a lot more than the subs were costing me. 30 8mg subs would last me well over 2 months. 30 of the 15 days. I'm switching back to suboxone today. I'm hoping I can still only take up to 4 mgs a day.

I have been on Subs since 2008. Started on 16mgs a day in rehab. It took me 6 years to get down to between 2 to 4 mgs a day, but I was down...that's all that matters. 3 weeks ago my doc switched me to zubsolv bc my ins wouldn't cover sub anymore. It actually will not cover the zubs either , but the zubs are a bit cheaper. I was given the 5.7 mgs and was suppose to take 1/2 tab a day to be equivalent to the amount of suboxone I was taking. I did that for 2 days and went into full withdraw. I'm now taking 1 1/2 tabs and still having mild symptoms. I'm switching back to the subs today!! I do not recommend at all!!!! Good Luck to you and I hope you have much better reaction to it than I did if you do decide to switch. :)

I've been on zubsolv for 3 weeks and they do nothing for me. I've gone into withdraw and am taking 3x as much as what is suppose to work. I'm going back on suboxone today.

I'm with ya!!!!!I have been on Suboxone since 2008. I left rehab on 16mgs a day. Just a month ago I was down to 2 to 4 mg aday. It took 6 years , but I was a lot lower. My ins stopped paying for the subs so my doc switched me to zubsolv.. ins doesn't cover this either , yet it's a bit cheaper. My doc said 5.7 zubsolv is equivalent to 8mg of suboxone, so I should break them in half. I took a 1/2 for couple of days and went into withdraw. I knew something was different, yet I was trying to give them a chance. I had to start taking a full 5.7 everyday sometimes even more. I'm still having mild symptoms. I have an appointment today to get my subs back. I'm sure I'm going to have to take more than the 2 to 4 mgs a day for a while, but I don't care. As much zubsolv as I'm taking and still sick is not worth is and will end up costing more than the subs.. Subs cost 200 a month. Those would last me well over 2 months. I can't wait to feel better. I do not recommend switching to zubsolve. It SUCKS!!!!! Now generic subutex would be a lot cheaper if it worked like suboxone. Does anyone have any input on generic subutex...I don't want to buy something else that doesn't work for me.

My son is on zubsolve and I'm still finding spoons hidden around the house. How in the heck could he be still IV'ing?

I took prescription opiates for 10 years and had enough of the nightmare and so I used Suboxone to save my life. My first problem is that recovery is such a delicate situation. Why are insurance companies allowed to mess with people's lives by telling us what is better for our recovery? It's truly an example of complete ignorance.

Now I know Zubsolv does not operate within my body the same way that Suboxone does. What I'm wondering is about the bioavailability. Per the definition, it should be the amount of the medication that arrives intact to my system. I want to know the exact amount of time that is based on. So if Zubsolv dissolves better but disappears quicker could that be causing the difference in effectiveness? Something is different...and quite frankly I don't think others pretending they can analyze with certainty that it is a mental issue helps in any way. I'd like to see more in depth analysis. Just not at my expense......

My insurance would cover 90 tabs for 30 days only. No more than that. I did get insurance to pay for suboxone over zubsolv by filing an appeal. I couldn't tolerate zubsolv. That was the only bupe brand my insurance way paying for they wouldn't even cover generic versions.

They would only cover 2 tabs of zubsolv to my 3 strips of suboxone! It was ridiculous, so now I've just pay cash for generic subutex...nothing in this world is going to jeopardize 3+yrs of sobriety! I've made it through a horrific accident and deal with pain on a daily basis...now I'm dealing with the fun of switching Dr's due to an out of state move! It's been nerve wracking! I don't know which direction to go, if I should try to see an addiction Dr., or a pain Dr... considering if it wasn't for the accident turning my life upside down, I'd be nearly off of it! If anyone has any suggestions, I'd greatly appreciate it! Good luck, God bless and thank you people!

Thanks Steve for sticking up for everyone. We are on here to help people not bash them! Different meds affect different people. It's funny how the majority of us dislike the zubsolv except a few and they think they know it all and have all the answers. It sounds like they need more than just zubsolv or suboxone!!!! Hmmmm maybe a pill for his anger and some classes!!!! Haha

You're one of the lucky ones! I've yet to hear anything from my 2nd tier appeal yet, then again, I'm dealing with the same ins for a workers comp case that's been drug out for almost two years now, made my life a living hell, taken nearly all I had but thank God I'm still sober, and that's all that matters to me! I gave up on zubsolv, I can barely afford to go to the Dr., let alone pay cash for 30/mo...and that's on borrowed money! I dingy know if anyone can relate that's had a comp case resulting in a serious injury, but it's almost as if they try to take advantage of your situation and bury you...literally! I'm lucky to be seeing a psychiatrist, good psychologist and great addiction Dr...without them, I honestly don't know if I would've made it this far, bad past or not! I'm now paying cash for generic subutex, which works much better than zubsolv, though I hate the huge pill and long dissolve time! Maybe they're starting to see this drug isn't all it's marketed to be! I just don't have the time or patience tio take on another fight, plus I've been released from my employer by both psych drs., I was billed for ins., but how do they expect me to pay it when my pays been taken away, can't get my mileage reimbursement that was submitted by my lawyer well over a month ago...sorry guys, but I'm livid with liberty mutual, I wish they had to suffer half of what we've been through! God bless you all!

I have the same experience with zubsolv. I filed an appeal and my insurance will now cover the suboxone again. Appeal has to be done by your doctor.
