Zanidip Bad Side Effects?

I was taking Micardis tablets with no problems until my Kidney specialist changed me to Zanidip.(something to do with calcium levels) but since then I started feeling unwell started with ear pain and inflammation of the throat glands now it's like I'm having an immune reaction to everything. I changed to Amlodipine tablets with no relief, went on a strict low histamine diet with no relief so brings me back to these calcium channel blockers. Are these tablets the cause of me getting worse Any suggestions?? as I'm sick of going to the Drs and getting no where.

Hi Kaz, not sure if you are stil looking at this site. I came across your post and thought I would share my experience with Zanidp. I have been taking Zanidip 20 mg for about 4 mths and have been getting some light nose bleed spotting and now tinitus in the right nostril and ear.. The doc says the nostril and ear are inflamed.. I have asked him if it is due to the Zanidip and he says NO and that it is an allergy.

Did you find out anything about your condition?

Though they aren't common, the FDA does list these types of symptoms as being possible side effects of calcium channel blockers.

Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension.

There are other options available, so you may want to speak to your respective doctors, and ask about trying something in a different medication class.

How are you both doing, now? Has there been any change?
