I have a head cold that started 27 Dec 16, spitting phlegm and a runny nose. Having temporary breathing problems and congestion in the lungs. Body temperature 96.3.

I received a steroid shot on thursday evening for acute bronchitis. She prescribed me a zpack just in case. I'm still not feeling great. How long should I wait before I can start the zpack, if I feel no changes that is? Today is Saturday.

This is an antibiotic that is used to treat various types of bacterial infections. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea.

Theresa, has there been any change, or did you try the antibiotic?

I took 3 pills of Z-pack 10 days ago for an ear infection. Is that still active in my system? Does it keep working for 30 days? Now I have a tooth infection and am wondering how long I have to wait to start a different antibiotic?
