Yaz Helps With Breakouts For A Few Months, Then Makes It Worse
UpdatedI was prescribed Yaz because of my hormonal imbalance and skin problems. At first I would take breaks every 3 months or so, and that seemed to work. However a new doc told me it was better to stay on the pill as long as i need it without breaks, so I did just that. After about 6 months, my skin started to gradually become worse and worse, and i would start to break out regularly again, and now that i'm a year in, i get pustules and painful cystic acne every week. This never used to happen before I took the pill at all. Does my body build tolerance to the pill's positive effect on my skin? Everywhere I go it seems to say that there's no benefit in taking breaks, yet while I did, my skin was at its best, and now that I went a year straight, my skin is worse than what its ever been. I'm lost, any advice or info appreciated.

Most likely it's your own hormonal fluctuations coupled with the hormones in the Yaz. It's normal for yours to change over time, then your adding the additional amounts of hormones to that, by taking this, so it can cause further disruption.
If taking breaks worked better for you, then you should tell your doctor that and tell them that you want to start doing so, again.
What type of doctor are you seeing?
