I've been on Xarelto for 8 months for a DVT. Have been having nosebleeds and now I have blood in my urine with back pain. Also have a cough that won't go away. Called my doctor and told him I want to get off it and he said OK, but I need to go in for a U/A and follow up with the doctor on Friday.

Yes, those types of issues can happen with any of the blood thinner/anticoagulant medications. You did the right thing by contacting your doctor immediately to stop taking it. The UA will be to double check for a UTI or other problem, to confirm whether or not it was solely due to the medication.
The FDA lists the other typical side effects of Xarelto as possibly including nausea, dizziness and headache.
