Xarelto Neck Swelling With Pain A And Stiff Neck

Hi, I am on Xarelto for three months due to a blood clot in the lower calf left leg. I have been suffering with a pain to the left side of my neck my the lymph node travelling down my left arm. Now my neck is getting stiff and I feel like I have a lump in my throat. Should I be concerned?

I, too, have a blood clot in my right lower calve. I have chronic pain my lower back. Since commencing Xarelto on February 28, 2015, my back pain has TRIPLED! It was never these severe. I just keep assuming that it must be from my using 15mgs of Xarelto per day. I had to go to the ER last night, (Friday, March 13, 2015) as I was having such severe pain. The ER doctor told me that the pain could not be from Xarelto. I disagree. I have read that Xarelto can cause muscle pain. Hope this helps!

Yes Jes, Xarelto is listed by the FDA to cause back pain and muscle pain, as side effects in some people that take it. You may also experience nausea, dizziness and headache.

Declan, your symptoms are highly unusual and you should have them checked out by your doctor, as soon as possible.

I JUST started on Xerelto 20 mg due to an episode of A-fib. I’m having nausea, stomach pains, uncomfortable aches in the base of my head and my temples, and hot flashes. I’m a 69-yr-old female and react to many meds, more as I age. I am truly sorry you are having side effects but I feel more at ease knowing I am not the only person experiencing these things. I hope these side effects pass quickly for all of us.

I started xarelto 7 days ago for a blood clot in my lung. I woke up this morning with both lymph nodes in my neck swollen and hurting. Going to see a Dr. Tomorrow hopefully I get some answers.

While on Xerelto for A-fib, I experienced horrid pains in the base of my head. The pharmacist told me this was common with Xarelto and it would ease up after a month. It did but would come back for a week or more at a time. I finally checked my BP and found it was 185/107. My BP had always been on the low side before. Although my cardiologist insisted the elevated BP was not due to Xarelto, I finally had to get off. Another blood thinner had the same effect. I finally got off blood thinners completely and my BP returned to normal in about 2 weks. I now take 650 mg of aspirin daily, which does not elevate my pressure. I suggest that you monitor your blood pressure just in case you are having a similar issue.
