Xarelto And Wierd Pains
(Newest replies first)
Updated
Perhaps one month after starting Xarelto, 20mg, I had developed a sore neck and knot in the mid knuckle of my right hand. Within 60 days I have trouble walking, a
severe pain right hip, right knee, left foot. and random pains elsewhere. I take it
because of Afib, now controlled by pacemaker and an ablation. How do I get off this
stuff?

Hi Kerrie I've been on Xarelto over 3 months now and have recently developed pains in my right heel to the point where like yourself it feels like I am walking on a small rock. I went to a GP doctor the other day and he believes I have Plantar fasciitis. He gave me some very simple exercises for it.its also called "Policeman's heel"
Hot and cold therapy Place foot in very hot and then cold water do 30sec each for 15 mins twice a day.
Use a comercially foot hydro-massager
Exercise: this is what I've been doing ...
(3times a day) regular stretching exercises:
Find a step with a supporting rail or wall nearby to help keep balance and stand on it with the balls (front)of your feet, keeping your knees straight. Let your heels gently drop as you count to 20. Then lift your heels and count to 10 and repeat the cycle 3 times.
I'm on day 3 of these exercises
Hope this info helps us both
Google it because I have an A4 page of info!
I was on Coumadin for many years switched to Xarelto a year ago and have been cold ever since with back and leg pain, dizziness, headache and fatique. The coldness is intense but can't get warm and is all day and night. It is like when chalkboard gets scratched with chalk an intense tingling thru out body that won't stop. Sometimes painful. The back pain is spasm like going down leg with Charlie horses in calf. Was cold on warfarin but this is far worse as there is no relief. Anybody else have this and what do you do for it.
I have now been on xarelto for aprox 2 months now. I have been experiencing. Pain in the bottom of both feet. I work and I can barely step down. Has anyone else had these symptoms . Just wondering if they are from this blood thinner?
Yes, this medication has been known to cause these types of issues as side effects, as listed by the FDA. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and easy bruising.
As to stopping it, it would be best to speak to your doctor, you may need to taper off of it, or you may need to switch to a different medication.
Is there anything else I can help with?
