Why is my tongue dark red as if it's bleeding in the morning after taking xarelto the night before?

Do you taste blood in your mouth, or is your tongue just red?

It has been known to cause bleeding of the gums, and nose bleeds, according to FDA reports. It could also be due to ecchymosis, wich is another listed side effect, it is a discoloration usually caused by bleeding under the skin that has caused bruising.

Does the discoloration remain all day, or does it eventually go away?

Are you on any other medications? Have you experienced any other side effects?

Sorry for all the questions, I am just trying to help you discover what might be causing this.
