Xanax And Lyrica - Need Help Getting Name Brand
(Newest replies first)
Updated
I'm a poor American that's on Obama care. The medical card only covers four prescriptions and it won't cover a brand name drug so that means I got to suffer without my Lyrica, Xanax and Norco because the generics don't work. What, if anything, can I do to get real name brand medicine that really works?

I have found that the Discount Prescription Cards available on this site and elsewhere can save you thousands. I just looked up the price of Lyrica which is scheduled to become generic in July 2019 if not already, OMG, $460 for 60 pills. 60 pills of Xanax cost me 98 cents. I see the Lyrica manufacturer offers a 60 day supply for $4. You can always ask for the Brand name of any of these medicines you take but the cost can be prohibitive and not covered by certain plans. I realize this post was from 2014 but Generic makers are now in collusion with each other, some can say it's a conspiracy!
After you try two generics and write out the symptoms as if we’re a guinea your dr has to push it through in name or try to with the insurance company! It’s bs after raising hell. For two years and playing dumb he’s finally told me how we can do it! Yes same here those 3 are targeted in generic.
I have tried every service that can help but since I have an annuity I don’t qualify for assistance. If you have a low income and no savings none of them will help you with Lyrica. NOBODY will even discuss any help with XANAX. I called the parent company for help and they have no program at this time. The medschat discount card will help dramatically with the cost of Xanax 1mg.
I've used those cards. $300 worth of medicine turned into $90 at Target, amazing. Now I have BCBS and I pay almost nothing for medicine. I also used to transfer medicine all around for the $25 or $35 dollars offered to do so. Now if it is a controlled med or a Federal Plan no money can be paid. I must have collected $2000 over the years!
Hi Zachary,
Sorry to hear about your situation. But I wanted to add that if you needed additional assistance covering the cost of your script when Obama care falls short, this site also offers a drug discount card that can reportedly save you anywhere from 15% to 75% off your Rx, potentially cutting the cost of a name brand medication drastically. It's not intended to be a replacement for insurance, but perhaps the savings can help make up for what they don't cover?
You can view more details about it on the following page:
Rx Savings Card
Just print out that card and take it with you whenever you go to fill your prescription and see what type of discount they can give you. I'd imagine that the percentage of savings may be different at each pharmacy.
Hope this helps!
