I have been using the patch with progestin supplements for 5 yrs (guessing) and expect my dr will want me t discontinue soon. I'll be 55 in2 mos. I am ambivalent as i still have experienced hot flashes when nearing time to change the patch. Can anyone recommend alternative safer treatment? ## For me anything is safer. My Dr. put me on premarin, then prempro and never told me to stop so I was on it for 15 yrs. and had a stroke, that's one of the side effects. I am 48 years old and currently taking this medication, lately I have been experiencing pain in my left leg that comes and go. My doctor just diagnosed me as menopausal. However, he will not prescribe depo testodiol for me. Is there a lower dose than 100 mg of Prometrium? ## Hi Kathryn, From what I could gather, 100mg is the lowest dose available... I just read an article saying that Prometrium Capsules are available in multiple strengths to afford dosage flexibility for optimum management; however, these Prometrium Capsules are only noted to contain 100 mg or 200 mg micronized progesterone (Which tells me that they do not in-fact offer it in "multiple strengths"; but rather, just a couple unfortunately). Or are you referring to their possibly altering the efficacy of oral contraceptives? have a jock itch type rash on both sides of upper penile area. doc said it was yeast infect and prescribed fluconazole one per day for 3 days. It helped but it is back after 4 weeks. I take many supplements including red yeast rice which I just cresumed after being off it for 3 weeks. this rash is not large but gets somewhat painful if I'm active outside ## It's most likely related to your outdoor activities, the moisture from sweating allows the yeast to grow. I had a miscarriage in December 2011. Miscarriage happened within 10-12 weeks of pregnancy. The first ultrasound after 7 weeks there was heartbeat and later on the 12 th month ultrasound did not reveal any ultrasound. the cause of the miscarriage could not be known after all the tests. I have conceived once again now. I have been taking this medication for three days now and am feeling sluggish. As well I have cramps in my feet.
