Womb Cleaner

I was on depo for 3 years and then i stopped. Now we are planning for a baby and I wanted to know if it's ok to have a womb scrub? If not, what other method can I use?

Hi lindiwe,

When you are preparing for a baby, it is the perfect time to ensure that your body is healthy and that your uterus and liver are clean.

I can't tell you if you should (or shouldn't) have a uterus or womb scrub procedure done, as that is something you should discuss with your gynecologist/OBGYN or family doctor. However, my research states that a fertility cleanse is recommended if you have been taking any medication.

A fertility cleanse helps the uterus to cleanse itself of old blood that may have accumulated over time, as well as increase circulation to the uterus while tonifying the uterine tissues. It also promotes the liver to cleanse the body of toxins as well as excess hormones.

Be sure NOT to cleanse during pregnancy or breastfeeding so that you do not expose your baby to your body’s toxins as they circulate in your blood while being flushed out of your system.

You can do a general body cleanse simply by eating mostly fresh organic fruits and vegetables (juicing, blending etc..) or you can use certain whole herbs (in tea, capsules, or tinctures) that are healthy for the uterus and liver.

Herbs that are good for your uterus:

Damiana leaf, goldenseal root, rasberry leaf, peony root, etc..

Herbs that are good for your liver:

Dandelion root, milk thistle seed, licorice root, ginger root, etc..
