Withdrawals From Oxycodone 30mg (Page 2)

I have been prescribed oxycodone 30 MG's for about 4 years 1 to 2 a day. I decided on the 11th of this month enough is enough! I hated the daily routine in order not to be sick for the day that I had to continue to take them. I became committed to do this for myself and children especially. They don't need a part of me they need all of me. I live in Az and it is harder and harder to come by. I could never see myself putting a needle in me and becoming a junkie. The problem that I am experiencing is that the symptoms continue to linger on, still really sick. When will the days get better? Seems it stays the same.
Ssri is an antidepressant. It could help with Paws. 2 1/2months is a long time! But it's good now you don't have to rely on anything.
Yes prescribed. The most 90mgs of Oxycodone. It did a number on me. Everyone is different I didn't feel better till 2 months later.
No that was not my problem. It was the medicine. Now that I am off. I feel normal again.
Thanks Liz. Life is so much better now. It took me about 2 1/2 months to somewhat feel better. I am completely off the meds since then. I also am not taking Suboxone as a substitute. It was very hard as I suffered from Paws but I will never look back. My body feels normal again. I don't have to wake up depending on medicine whether it is gonna be a good or sick day. What is ssri?
Hey did everything work out? Takes a month but the mental really does suck, maybe you would need an sssri for a few months.
Maybe your problem is not the medication but something else. Depression comes to mind but other physical problems can cause the same symptoms. If you don't feel better in a few weeks I would get a checkup with your doctor. You could also have some vitamin or mineral issues but I would have some blood work done before buying a bunch of stuff from the healthfood store.
15 days after my last 5 mg Oxycodone/acetaminophen pill. I only took ONE a day for about 4 years. I am still suffering from exaustion and depression. When am I supposed to feel better?
Just an update. I am doing great. After about a month not feeling to well. I decided to take 5mg methadone for 3 days. On the fourth day I woke up not taking anything and I have been fine no withdrawals nothing. It feels so good waking up and not having to be dependant on something.
I have a friend who takes 4 30s a day perscribed he tried to quit was so hard so i told him to try methadone the 5mgs 1 or 2 a day for like 3 days it saved him and hes off the oxys now
Were these prescribed by a doctor because that is one strange dose? or were they oxycotins? Cotins they say take longer to withdrawal from. 60mg a day is not a very big dose so you will be uncomfortable for a week or two should start to get better in a week but lingers after that another week. Hang in there and you don't need to worry about anything bad happening. Withdrawal from even high doses feels like your dying but rarely ever does something dangerous happen. Thats more people who are withdrawing from other meds too.
James,
Thanks for your words if encouragement. I did do this cold turkey. I have a couple of friends that are worried because they say that it is really dangerous. I barely started to be able to even clean still not feeling 100%. Another reason I wanted to quit is the overdoses have hit high due to prescribed meds. Just 2 days ago a friend of friend just overdosed. Two weeks prior she od they gave her save a shot. This time no luck. She had young children that found her. My friend said this could happen to you. You are doing it unsafe. Know I am not sure of myself. Should I taper after so long?
They will get better, when you stop either by CT a taper. For you sounds like a taper wont work. CT is the best way. Its more likely you will have a better chance to stay off it. cuz your going to be down at least 7-10 days, then it gets better. I don't know if u been threw this before? if you don't use it WILL STOP!! I mean in a great way. Also because of the needle I lost my brother in 96 to an opiate O.D. but pills are different..you should be threw this as your post says April 11th.
Hello. Not so good. Still dizzy, not eating well, drinking water haven't been able to do.
I hope it doesn't take a month.
Hello, Stef! How are you feeling? Has there been any change?
When I went off of my pain management medications cold turkey, after being on them for several years, I found that it took about a month, before things returned to normal. It can vary from person to person, though.
The FDA lists the typical withdrawal effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, fever, chills, diarrhea and rebound pain.
