Withdrawal From Adderall, Tramadol And Xanax At The Same Time
(Newest replies first)

I've been on xanax, tramadol, adderall and norcos for 10 years now. I called last week for my adderall refill n nurse called me back saying my dr. Had left practice unexpectedly 3 weeks ago n the other providers n the office wont write for any of my scripts except for the norcos. She said to try n find another dr for the others, like i can afford another dr. bill along w the one i have w them, i have no insurance. Boom, not even a month worth until i could maybe find a new dr. Cold turkey from adderall tramadol n xanax all at the same time!! Inhumane n downright sick f***s i say. Talk about feeling like s***, i have a child w a congenital heart defect that needs my constant care n im treated like that after faithfully paying thousands upon thousands to that practice for over 15 year's. If i gotta stop meds for whatever reason at least do it humanely. I have a life to live and another one to keep alive. Drs need to be held accountable for the decisions the make, patients shouldn't have to suffer for following the advice of someone who took an oath to have their best interest at heart...

Hello. I am truly sorry to hear this. I have gone through the same thing before and believe me there is nothing that can be done. The system is broke. Truly broke.
Dear Kearbear,
Sorry to hear about you being forced to cold turkey off your medications... Especially xanax! Inhumane is exactly right, as from what I heard, certain xanax withdrawal symptoms can be fatal! If you feel that the doctor's decision has severely affected your livelihood, maybe the possibility of legal action would be something to discuss with an attorney. The only issue I sometimes notice is that doctors aren't always held accountable for their actions because not many others are higher up the food chain of credentials (so who, other than another physician is going to question the validity of their advice without also having a PhD, medical degree, etc?)... And I'd honestly like to be proven wrong about that, but people who don't take those same meds may have a very difficult time even understanding the magnitude of the mistake that was made and how those withdrawals symptoms could severely impact someone's life.
I send my best wishes to you and really hope that you'll be able to make a full recovery sooner than later.
Happy Thanksgiving!
