I have been taking 100mg of kadian for over 5 years, Im terrified of the withdrawl especially since its been for such a long period, I don't know if Im addicted or not, I don't have an addictive personality. I was on Percodan for over a year due to extensive dental work. I used to have to take 2 to keep 1 down and so on to the point Id be taking 6 puking through a fish net cause 3 or more pills would come flying up whole, sorry I know its disgusting but as soon as my dental work was done so was I. I tossed what I had left down the toilet and had no withdrawl just relief I didn't have to take them anymore. However I am (was) taking Seroquel 200mg and decided I don't want this anymore so I stopped taking it. I have never been so sick in my life. I couldn't lift my head off the pillow except to roll over and puke in the garbage can and this went on for more than the 2 weeks they tell you. I wanted to die I was so sick. When someone told me u cant just stop cold turkey. I took 1 pill and instantly was better. I had to come off it slowly and that took over a year. Im so scared of what coming down on the kadian will do. Should u go down like 5mg at a time or is 10 safe. I don't want any side effects. I was going to suggest to my dr 5mg at a time 5 months at a time my body shouldn't rebel against that should it. I don't care how long it takes. I have deteriorating disc disease still have some pain but I manage it. then once Im off Kadian what can I take that's not as addictive and I can take when I need to. Im afraid if I do come off this my dr will leave me high and dry and back in pain and wont prescribe me pain relief just muscle relaxants or what I call bug juice like the Seroquel. Im very confused and very scared. The other way I was thinking was change kadian time release to 25 mg morphine 4 times a day then there would be no withdrawl then go down slowly and take it only when I needed it. What makes more sense and will be easier to do? Then I will know when Im in pain and what times of the day were worse.
Hi shemas,
Nabilone is actually in a class of medications called cannabinoids, not opioids. That said, Kadian (Morphine) would most-likely be the more difficult drug to withdrawal from.
However, if you stop taking Nabilone suddenly, you may have withdrawal symptoms, so in my opinion it would still be wise to taper off this as well.
How long have you been taking these medications for?
