I just had to draw blood for Dr hasan's office and I know methadone is going to turn up in my system and it's only supposed to be oxycodone & hysingla. I know they are going to discharge me but do they give you your last script or not?

We must fight back and not take this laying down. I do understand that there are people that abuse the pain meds. Yet, they want to throw statistics, but more people die a day from drinking and smoking than deaths of pain meds. Make some pain meds that aren't addictive. If we stay silent then we lose. How can they tell a person their pain level can be soothed with this amount of meds to the next. They can't, and I'm not ashamed to stand up for my rights. There are organizations out here that can help us. We need to stand strong and demand to be treated with standards that care for people with real issues of pain. I'm not loving my country at this moment.

I have been taking Methadone for pain management going on 6 years. I live outside of Wisconsin Dells, Wi.
My current prescribing doctor is retiring. Does anyone know of a doctor in Madison or surrounding areas who prescribes Methadone?
Thank you

Yes, Dr. Hasan will give you your last prescription if she discharges you...But not because she is so nice and generous...Because it is the Law.

And I Do take Oxycodone. And yes, they have began trying to cut my meds down too. But only by 15mg. And Dr. Scarlett told me to try the cut-down for a month. If it didn't work well for me, he will then boost me back up.

And I have asked him and his Assistant several different times if they were trying to cut me totally off of my pain meds and everytime they have said Not At All!!

He told me that he knows I work a very physical job and has no intentions or plans of cutting my pain meds out completely, or even too low.

He said he knows that I wouldn't be able to work...at All...without my pain meds...And he would rather give them to me and have me working...Than Not give them to me and have me laid up at home and not work.

So I don't know what to tell you folks that are experiencing your stated negativity from him and from APM. I think this is the point in time where you say "Everyone is different...Every case is Different!"

But so far I'm going on 4 years seeing Dr. Scarlett and they've been very positive years. I've just seen his Assistant about a week ago. Besides, I'm not that worried about my meds being decreased by only 15mg per day.

They have decreased me before and when I let them know that the decrease did not work well with my pain, Dr. Scarlett would just increase it back up.

I think their point is that they just want patients to be Willing to at least Try a medication decrease just to see if it works out ok..Or a med change to something else to see if that helps. The main thing is you Have to Talk to Dr. Scarlett...And request to see Him, not the Assistant.

And you have to Communicate with him...Let him know that, "Hey doc, I just cannot make it well with this decrease in meds. I hurt constantly, so can you increase my meds back up?"

When I first started seeing him, he told me that he can tell even before the appointment is over..the difference between folks that walk in there and just Want pain meds for drugs, and those that are really in Need of them because the ones that Need them will always be willing to try med changes, decreases, etc...

I am.on this pain med crap Not because I just want it...But I am on it because I Need It and Have to take it in order to be able to work and have good solid Quality of Life!! And I have no doubt that most of you guys are in that same boat!

So...Just play the game...Go there to him or his Assistant, or whichever your pain doctor is, with an open mind and Willingness to try a slight decrease or med change.

And to the one here who says his doctor cut him down Instantly from 6 Oxycodone per day to 3 per day, if your doctor did Indeed just suddenly and swiftly cut your pain meds down that far, all at once, then I'd say to you...It's time to start looking for a new pain doctor because your current doctor who did that...Is clearly a pure Idiot..Or he lives with No Patient Caring and/or Compassion whatsoever!!

And please don't even Try to convince me that Dr. Scarlett is the one who did that because I know better!!

Lastly, I have been reading for at least 2 years now, going on 3 years, that Dr. Scarlett and APM is trying to cut everyone totally off of their pain meds. Folks, I just don't believe that. And also, regarding these med decreases..it's not Dr. Scarlett that's Doing it to us, nor is it most other doctors either...But it's our crappy ass Government...The FDA, and other officials and reps who undoubtedly have not once lived with excruciating pain for more than a day.

And someone was very right here...What they Should be doing is focusing on cutting down or stopping the sales of alcohol and cigarettes/tobacco...Both of them are drugs that are constantly abused!! But ohhh No, the FDA and officials won't even adhere to that ideation. Because if they did, those snobby snooty asses couldn't have their evening drinks to settle their crooked conscience!! Nor would they know what to even do with all of the fancy smoking rooms and cigar/cigarette clubs that they like running!

Anyway, this is my outlook on it all. Take it for what it's worth...How it's written here!! And I mean absolutely No Disrespect to Anyone here who is taking pain meds. The only ones who Know that, like me, you Need the meds or just Want the pain meds...Is you and your doctor!!! So don't let my words here offend ya. I deeply apologize if they do.

Tribe of the Lion:

My G.P. had me currently taking 30mg Oxycodone i.r. due to spinal fusion surgeries that horribly went wrong and left me with more pain than I had before hand. My G.P. was prescribing 30 mg i.r. every 4 hours (6 per day) for the past 7 years. When I went to my February appointment he told me that because of new laws he can no longer prescribe my medication any longer and that in March he would start cutting me down by 1 30mg tablet every 2 Weeks. So far it hasn't been that bad taking 5 a day but when I see him next he is going to cut me down to 4 per day for the next 2 weeks and then when I get to 90mg he wants to put me on Methadone. Im really worried about the cut to 4 per day but Im ok with it and I will just have to see how it goes. I told my Dr that Im against taking Methadone & I feel like Im being forced to take it.. his reply was his hands are tied because of the new CDC Guidelines. This man has been my G.P
for over 23 years and knows all of my medical history and knows my chronic pain is legitimate... I just can't believe he is doing this to me. I had made an appointment at a different APM location and I did not even get to see who I scheduled my appointment with but rather a N.P. who was very uncaring and rude. This G.P. offered me the same cut down cutting me from 6 a day down to 4 a day right of the bat. I told him I thought that was cutting it too fast too soon and left. My question for you is, since you have been seeing Dr. Scarlett for so many years and know his bed side manner do you think that once Im cut down to 4 a day and explained my entire situation to him that would he consider taking me on as a patient and continue with the 4 a day? I have all my medical & surgery reports as well as all my x-rays & mri's. I have never failed a drug panel or level evaluation or asked for an increase or an early refill. I see he has an office in West Bend as well and although it would be a 26 mile drive for me Im willing to do it to have a legitimate & reliable Dr. The other pain management clinics here that accept my insurance are all on the CDC bandwagon and wont prescribe oxycodone at all. The only place Ive found so far that would be a last resort only takes Cash payment & No Insurance. And that sounds very shady to me and not reliable. If you could please respond to my post I would really appreciate it. Thank You.

Hello,

I cannot tell you For Sure that Yes, Dr. Scarlett will do that. If I told you that I could, I'd be lying. But what I Can tell you is that he is the kindest, most compassionate doctor that I have ever met, esp as a Pain Management Dr. And so is his Assistant Christa.

So my suggestion is this...Make an appointment with him. It wouldn't hurt you to in any way. And I am pretty sure that he will keep you on the kind of pain medication that you are taking now. So if I were you, I'd make it a point to see him. It surely would not Hurt anything.

Dr Hassan use to be good. I went through the same thing drawing blood, swabbing my mouth! Then cutting my meds. They accused me of seeing a different doctor! Then they realized it was a doctor from their own practice, who married and had a name change. They have totally lost it! Terrible building. They treat people like s***!

You say there awesome but they prescribe any 30mg Oxycodone because that's what my Dr was prescribing and hes now hes tapering me off and Im doing horrible

I know it's the DEA cause of a**holes overdosing on illicit drugs they buy on the street, but we have to pay for their abuse.

That is exactly what I was told. I am frustrated of what I'm going to do. I can't have any more procedures and was told the spinal cord stimulator was the last resort for me. Dam the government

Ya well the DEA I read are not the bad people, but that may be wrong. It's the people who overdose on street drugs not the people who really need it. Soon that's gonna be the only way to get pain relief.

Yes they do. I was on 120 30 mg tabs. I reallt liked the nurses too. Was kicked out for a couple reasons, my fault. I was there 5 years, and left early this year.

It's both the DEA and these pieces of crap junkies who are making pain patients hurt even Worse!! It's the DEA'S fault because by doing what they're doing, they're putting the "Drug Seeking Junkie" label on everyone's back who suffers from pain everyday!!

The thing is this...The DEA does not care about the "Everyday Joe" who lives down the street who overdoses and dies from it!! And if it was just them, we would not Hear a Word about New Laws this and New Sanctions that...Regarding pain medication!!

But it's the deaths of these pieces of crap spoiled brats and ******s, Hollywood stars and music stars, and popular Political people that, soon as one of them blows too much money and gets any type of pain meds their rich asses can buy.. Such as Michael Jackson, George Michael's, and others...And they overdose...

All of a sudden the DEA gets blamed, and instead of standing up for themselves and real pain sufferers, and saying to these dead stars' families, "Hey, look, your spoiled rich-living dead star family member is the Only one to blame for his or her death! No One Else!!"

Instead of that, they cower down like little panzy panty waist Wusses...And they place all the blame on the rest of the pain suffering world!! What a bunch of pathetic cowards the DEA are!!

And I can't really blame the doctors, except those that are so money hungry that they cater to the rich, and not caring that if something happens, how it might affect the rest of the pain sufferers.

Those doctors are even bigger cowards than the DEA. But the Good doctors, the ones that are merely just trying to help pain patients lead productive pain-controlled lives...

They have worked Hard for their license!! I don't blame them for not wanting to lose their license...And for really wanting to protect themselves by weeding out pain patients that, despite their pain, are really just trying to work and earn a living...from those patients that Can work but choose to just sit at home day in and day out, and gobbling down pill after pill!

These doctors...They're not Stupid...They can look at a person and tell one that's really trying but are suffering and in need of pain help...from those that are really just coming for their monthly "fix!" Naw Sirs...These pain doctors are Not Stupid!!

To the person seeing doctor Scarlett do u have a number an location for him plz. I'm in Omro Wi. My doctor KEEPS cutting me down also. I was on 7 30 mg oxycodone a day along w/ 2 oxycotin 80 mg from a doctor I was seeing in Milwaukee. Whom I lost after 21/2 yrs . Now seeing one in Oshkosh who automatically cut me to half of everything instantly. Talk about being floored an in pain.. An he continues to want to cut me off.

I've got a spiral cord close to being severed. I've got pain every place. I've had a total shoulder reconstruction done. I was along the outside of a cab coming from knee replacement therepy. Which obviously caused all these new issues. But anyway i need a caring doctor not one that says this is all we're aloud to do because of laws. Like folks are saying everyone is different.

Hello Tribe of the Lion. You give me inspiration and hope. I found a nice who give meds out but even on medicare and medicaid they charge $70 over and $150 if you don't have anthem. I had to change my HMO which means I'll either have to pay $150 or find a new Dr right now I can't afford to stay. I'm wondering is Dr. Scarlet still working out for you?
