Will Tramadol Show Up On My Pain Management Drug Test If I Take Oxycodone? (Page 2)

I am in Virginia and I currently take 4 30mg oxycodones and 4 100mg morphines a day, I get drug tested every three months. I took some tramadol recently that I found but can't find my prescription for it. Will my doctor see that I took tramadol even though I already take Oxycodone and Morphine?
In the past week my research shows 50% say no 50% say yes??? I am confused????
Are you sure? This is my life your talking about.
I can say for sure but it looks like Tramadol won't show up on a standard NIDA 5 panel drug screen.
I will run out of my pain medication because my Dr moved my appointment up 2 weeks. I have some Tramadol that my family member gave me for the pain. And it will last until the appointment. Will it show up in the urine test?
Ok... Let me first say that I'm not a doctor, lab tech or nurse.. I am however a pain management patient... I go to a very strict clinic... Like many of you have posted on here before I too had a rough month and took too much of my medication.. With that being said, I did take 3 tramadol that I got from a family member... I'm prescribed hydrocodone and oxycodone... The tramadol that I took were not mine...I took them on a Sunday the DAY before my sched appt... I was drug tested on MONDAY and I worried myself sick the whole month because I just knew when I went in for my next appt that my results would show the tramadol that I had taken... Well, I just left my docs office and I had passed my ua and nothing was said to me... Now, with all that said... I want to say this: I do not know how or why it wasn't in my test results... I am fairly certain that the ONLY reason it didn't show up is because the test wasn't looking for TRAMADOL... I see a lot of conflicting answers to this question on the internet... I am not saying any of this to help someone who is abusing drugs.. I just wanted to post on here MY situation... I know what I did was wrong and I have learned my lesson... It is just not worth the risk of loosing the good relationship I have with my doctor... I will never do this again because I worried myself sick over it. But anyway, I just wanted to post this just in case someone else has the same situation as myself... But in short: I took tramadol on a Sunday and the next day I had a ua and the tramadol was not detected... But like I said earlier in this post it prob went undetected just because the test I took didn't have tramadol on the list for drugs to detect... I hope this helps someone....
If it is a urine dip test like you buy at the store and do at home it most likely will not show up.
I've had 8 major spinal fusions and 22 .I or procedures. I'm prescribed 15th oxymoron and 75 Mcrgrm patchs. I recently had brainstem procedure that caused severe headaches. I had tramadol prescription 2 years ago from neurologist for headaches and took it 200 mgs. 36 hours before pain doc popped UA. will tramadol show on this test?
Excellent, I hope for the best, I am sure it will be out of my system, I will let you guys know how it goes.
I am in the state of Ohio. I am not a patient or a doctor. I am a third party administrator for hair drug testing and I supply drug testing supplies. No manufacturers of rapid screening tests I deal with have tramadol on a panel test mainly because there isn't much call to test for it. I am sure there are some labs that can test for it by the GC/MS method but it's not common.
I am taking my regular drug test for my pain management that I take every three months. Pain clinics test for tramadol, but i'm wondering about my pain management test for tramadol
I suspect that you are being tested for illegal drugs. I have never had ultram show up on that. Pain clinics do test for ultram/tramadol, they are more interested in what prescription drugs you are taking that they have not prescribed.
Okay sweet, so I guess I'm in the clear since none of your tests don't have tramadol on it. May I ask what state you are in, and are you a patient or a doc? since tramadol is not a scheduled drug, I should be good, I just thought it might be checked since tramadol has a "potential" for abuse. I just want to avoid it being detected on any level to ensure no questions from the doctor or anything that would jeopardize my pain management medication because I am not prescribed tramadol and would not have proof to show, in the case they do see I have traces of it and ask why I took it. Thanks for the speedy responses, much appreciated :)
"The results provided the physician or health-care professional with information about drug abuse and could be used to improve patient care with patient-specific therapy."
ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24071814
To facilitate the monitoring of drug abuse by patients, a method was developed and validated for fast and highly selective screening for amphetamine, methamphetamine, 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine, methylenedioxyamphetamine, methylenedioxyethylamphetamine, methylphenidate, cocaine, benzoylecgonine, morphine, codeine, heroin, 6-monoacteylmorphine, methadone, 2-ethylidene-1,5-dimethyl-3,3-diphenylpyrrolidine, nicotine, and cotinine in PharmCheck sweat patches
Correct, tramadol won't show up on a rapid screening test unless there is actual test strip for it on a rapid screening panel test. But all the test I deal with don't have tramadol on it. GC/MS is short for Gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC-MS). It is the "gold standard" for any lab drug testing. You can check Wikipedia for an explanation but it is very technical. I don't have any stats on how long tramadol can be detected but I would guess between 3-5 days in a urine drug test.
This does help, thanks. So rapid screenings don't test for tramadol and won't unless they specifically look for it? what is GC/MS? Apparently the pain management only tests for narcotics and scheduled substances, if in that case, tramadol wouldn't be tested for? In the state of Virginia, Tramadol for a schedule IV got rejected so that's good... How long does tramadol take to leave the system?
If it is a rapid screening test tramadol usually won't be tested for so it won't show up. Even if it is a GC/MS lab test it should not show up unless they're are actually testing for tramadol. If it is lab that deals with pain management they might test for it. But if you only get tested every three months the tramadol will be long gone from your system if you stop taking it. Hope this helps?
