Will Metronidazole Still Be Effective If I'm On My Period

I was diagnosed with bv. I'm suppose to get my period in 3 days and I want to start the treatment. Should I wait till my period's over?

This is an antibiotic and will still work, even if you are on your period.

The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and stomach pain.

Is there anything else I can help with?
