Will Doxycycl Hyc 100mg. Tablet Treat Toothache

I have been suffering with a toothache this weekend and was wondering if this medication doxycycl hyc 100mg. will help with a toothache?

i had toothache last moth after took antibiotic called amoxycillin,the pain stop and dentist filling it. now the pain comes back after one month again and i could not take ice or cold./hot drinks .its very painful. the pain is on and off, i took same antibiotic again but not working.pls help is there any ways to stop the pain.

Sorry to hear about your toothache. From what I've researched, Doxycycline is commonly used for dental infections. However, I would still encourage you to discuss this with your doctor or pharmacist first, in order to know the proper dosage and duration of treatment. Your doctor might also recommend something else which may be more effective depending on how severe the infection is, so that is worth taking into consideration as well.

It sounds to me like the infection was never fully eradicated the first time around, potentially making it more resistant to antibiotics. You may have to go back to the dentist to get to the root of the problem. Have you considered putting dabs of clove oil on your tooth to help numb the pain in the meantime? That seemed to work well for me when I was in a similar predicament. I also found that pure vanilla extract gave me some temporary relief on the spot, but please let us know if you have success with anything else.
