Why Was Greenstone Sertraline Discontinued? (Top voted first)
UpdatedAfter researching online and my own experience, camber sertraline works as well as greenstone. I could only take greenstone, now I’m on brand name Zoloft. Walgreens has a card from Pfizer that saves me hundreds of dollars a month. After a year I’ll need to get my insurance and doctor to approve a tier reduction for the price of the brand name.

Just want to let you know that Greenstone started making "authorize generic" zoloft again. I was able to get it from healthwarehouse. I paid $45 for qty. 180 of the 100mg tablets. They maybe available at other pharmacies and covered under insurance since it is a generic. You need to ask for it by name.
The tablets have "zoloft" imprinted on them which means they are made on the exact same production line as the name brand zoloft. I know many of you (as I have been) are looking for quality sertraline that are NOT made in India or China. Hopefully, this will help some of you.
Re: Tom (# 2)
I also have trouble with Zoloft brand. I feel confused and a little agitated on it. Greenstone always worked wonderfully for me. No other generics do. I wish they would stop playing around and continue to make the Greenstone brand.
Re: Kevin (# 1)
After Greenstone stopped making Sertraline, I had to switch over to Zoloft. After a short time I started getting strange feelings in my chest, upset stomach, dizziness, headaches. As time has gone by these symptoms continue to get worse. Within a hour or so after taking Zoloft is when these issues start. I took Sertraline made by Greenstone for more than ten years and had no side affects, unless I received the wrong brand other than Greenstone.
Feeling concerned. Has Greenstone started making this drug again? According to your itemized list of the two drugs they look identical.
Hello J,
I have some bittersweet news to deliver. It turns out that Greenstone was the generic brand owned by Pfizer, which is the company that manufactuers the brand name Zoloft. On the bright side the pills are nearly identical only differing in color dye inactive ingredients. From what I read it was no longer in the companies best interest to continue manufacturing the generic and decided to only manufacture the brand name. If you were happy with the quality of the Greenstone brand then you will find that the Zoloft brand should work well with you unless you discover you have an allergy to the different color dyes.
For infomational purposes I will list the two different brands ingredients below so you can see for yourself how similar the two are.

Re: Rosemary Stabile (# 4)
Pfizer is making Greenstone again as of early 2020. You can get it thru healthwarehouse.com (does NOT take insurance) or Costco Pharmacy.
After stickershock from purchasing Zoloft in January, my pharmacist found sertraline by greenstone. Being that I was able to only take that one as an alternative we ordered some. I've been on for a short time now and began experiencing the same emotional problems as I have from other alternatives of zoloft. I cannot take any other... now I have read that you have changed some small ingredients in the pill. Well, now it does nothing for me. I'm a psychological mess. What to do?
