Why Not Butesin Picrate?

I have used butesin picrate in the 1950's on two major burns, in both cases with excellent results. I am not aware of any drawbacks, except for the very strong yellow color. I would like to know what was the reason for this ointment to be discontinued because, if there is no terrible aftereffect, this is the best burn first aid I have known.

I really don't have a lot of information on it, there isn't even really a monograph for it, but I think this is due to the fact that most of the products that contain are over the counter items.

One that would be easiest to find would be Almay Anti-Itch Lotion, though I am not sure how well it would work for burns.

Does anyone else have more information on this?
