Why Dont You Brand Name Valium Prescribed Much Anymore (Top voted first)
Updated15 or 20 years ago we seen brand name valium prescribed but these days all we see is the generic.

Well, the main factor is that the generic is cheaper and, once a medication is available as a generic, most prescription insurance plans stop covering the name brand, due to the price differences.

A doctor can actually write the prescription either way and the pharmacy will usually fill with the generic first, unless it's written as brand medically necessary.

Roche Valium 10 mg National Drug Code is this
00140-0005-01 Average Wholesale Price to the
USA pharmacies, is, $479.98, for one bottle of one
hundred "V-Cut" blue Roche Valium. The price has
increased almost 5 times, in the past 20 years!!!! No
one can afford them anymore @ nearly five bucks per pill. Sources: REDBOOK 113th edition, Pharmacy's Fundamental Reference, page 790, published by PDR and distributed by Thomson-Reuters. Also, the 1995
PDR GENERICS 1st editon, published, in 1994, by,
PDR, with the Average Wholesale Prices, of over,
2,000 ethical pharmaceuticals, during that time period, when Roche Valium wholesaled for one dollar each for one 10mg. At my age, (60), I remember when Roche Valium sold for 35 cents each, or a script for 60 Roche Valium only costs, like around $21.00, in the 1970's, and that was for the coveted 10mg blue Valiums. The Average Wholesale costs of the remaining generics, that are the only ones the USA insurance companies will pay for, average around a range from $31.00 to a high of $42.00 US per bottle of 100 ten mg Diazepam
generics. Source: REDBOOK, again. (the pharmacy bible of prices). In Mexico, I purchased from a independent pharmacy, in Cabo San Lucas, ninety 10 mg Roche Valium, manufactured from their Mexican
mfg plant, for US 90.00. (in person) via being in linear alinement, with a prescription, and, dealing, with a retail pharmacy. They did not have the "V-cut" that
Roche started in 1984, only in the USA, as Roche Valium in at least 39 countries of the modern industrialized world, still, market Roche Valium, solid, all the way through, except India, where the 10mg Roche Valium are the color white, by Roche licensee,
Nicholas Pirimal, of Mumbai, India. Source: Martindale 36th edition, London, United Kingdom. What a rip off to consumers in the USA! I also find the Mylan diazepam 10mg to be not nearly as potent, as the USA Roche Valium made in Nutley, NJ, (formerly Manati, Puerto Rico).
