HELP! 4 months ago I stopped, [ cold turkey] all my oxycodone and 25 days ago stopped my methadone as well.3 weeks ago I went on Suboxone. I just had my 2nd. urine test and it still shows oxycodone and methadone!!! Light lines but still there? I HAVE NOT taken any meds except my Suboxone for 3 weeks and have been off oxycodone for 4 months and off methadone for 24 days. WHAT is wrong?? They are going to drop me and this is my LAST chance for help or hope. Why is this happening to me? I am 65, have had 15 surgeries and the addiction for 15 years but only got the heavy drugs when all the surgeries started. But I'm still an addict trying as my last gasp to get rid of everything in my system. The only other meds I take are 2 different blood pressure pills, Savella for my fibro, 2 iron pills and an 81mg. asprin. Any and all suggestions appreciated. Anything healthy I can take to clean my system or tissues? Thank you all so much.

I had surgery on the 23 rd and was given my methadone and percocet in hospital. Had no meth for 2 days after but did take percocet not prescribed to me for pain as the tylenol with codiene did not help at all. The clinic did a quick test and routine drug test. Quick test turned blue but I don' t know what that means. Does thos show meth not in my system or is it a positive for the percocet? Just need to know as it is bothering me. Thanks!

I wonder the same thing because sinus meds can create false positives and I believe that's occured in my case.
I had them treat me like crap. They accused me of shooting up (never in my life) and they accused me of using someone else's urine (never in my life). They said there were no metabolites, my creatine was really low and there was no subutex which I'm on and was positive for methadone which I've been off of for 3 months. I told them I should have tested positive for hydrocodone because I had taken it for withdrawals from my gabapentin. It all makes no sense and instead of trying to figure out the problem it's easier to make me the problem. I'm just scared that I'll fail the subsequent test that will follow now because of this. I don't trust it.

Any doc knows it takes 6-8 weeks for it to pass..you can speed it up with a flusk kit by a few days..good luck.

I too am going through the same problems and have had the same issues... I took methadone for almost 6 years about 90 mg and now I have been off of it for 2 1/2 to 3 months & I'm still pissing hot for methadone as if I'm still taking it, and also it's a dip test which false positives happen all the time, sometimes when I take allergy pills or Benadryl I've gotten a false Positive for methamphetamine which I've never done or ever been around!!! I switched to subutex and this is almost my third month and now my doctor looks at me like I'm lying to him so I understand you completely! I'm hoping he doesn't discharge me, something really needs to be done and documented about all the false positive readings that dip tests show and find a cheaper remedy for doctors other than the dipsticks which are exactly a dipstick but anyways good luck to you. Hope it all works out.

I'm currently 9 days clean from opiates, about two months clean from methadone. I only took methadone about fifteen times in a period of 3 months I think! I only used them when I didn't have anything else. I'm going back to nursing school and have a urine test coming up and I'm freaking out! I also have been using opioids for the last year. W/d were brutal, still have trouble sleeping and bad back pain. I also feel as though I have brain fog. But it's all deff getting better! I also took a 12 drug at home test this morning it came up clean but the lines were very faint. Any help would be greatly appreciated !

Hi there, I know that your post is very old but i am a 57 yr old woman that was on methadone for 26 yrs straight. Recently i detoxed and got on a Suboxone clinic. I have been off methadone for 33 days today and taken 3 u/a's and they have all been positive for methadone. They are telling me that it can't stay in my system that long without me recently taking it again. I am being sent to the lab in 2 days and hope it shows some good results or tells them i am not taking methadone too. My question to you is, how long did it stay with you? Hi guys, I've been on methadone for seven years. For the last year I have been taking 15 mg a day. I have just done a methadone detox by using Lofexafine for 7 days plus four 0.2mg diazepam. Yesterday they stopped my meds. They told me I peaked on the 4th/5th day. They urine tested me on that day I was positive. So they told me on the 8th day I was getting no meds as a result of that test. And they wanted me to go four days without anything? As I peaked, I was very emotional and confused as I had hardly felt any withdrawals up until day 7. I was asking how can that be? Today they implied I have been taking physeptone tablets (methadone). Otherwise, it would be out my system. I asked how come all I felt was tiredness and zombified on lofexidine, but no sneezing or goose pimples, sickness? I believe or feel I'm only halfway through. My blood pressure from day two has been low when it should have been through the roof if I was withdrawing, then the lofexidine brings it down to a normal level. But my last 2 readings have been higher (126/76) and I'm being told it's done. But why is it still showing up? Am I going into slow prolonged withdrawals over weeks? Dr's are telling me I'm done off meds and lying. Wtf? I have 10mg diazepam and I hope this helps. If anyone can help or offer advice I would appreciate it. Thank you. Never give up.

I know it's been a while since you posted but I just wanted to say the same happened with me and Methadone. I took Savella for fibro also and had never taken Methadone but was discharged from practice without a word. I begged them to take blood, saliva, hair anything but they would not. I had been going there for almost 5 years and had never been drug tested. The first time I went in with Medicare after being granted disability finally I received most first and last drug test! You can't tell me there wasn't something shady about that!! I now see a really good doctor but he has me on Oxycodone, Morphine and Methadone for pain. I've stressed to him that I am uneasy taking the Methadone and that it makes me sweat profusely he still doesn't want to take me off of it! Can anyone explain to me why something that is used to get a person off of opiates is given it with other opiates for pain? Would it not cancel out the other? Thanks for any and all help!!

Hey Merewolf! Yes, methadone has been prescribed for years by pain management doctors, and I was on it for my extended release med, and oxycodone 30 mg for my breakthrough. As for using methadone to come off other opiates, yes, it's been used for detoxification purposes for years as well! It helped my pain tremendously, and it took me about a year and a half to do a blind detox off methadone, at my request, and I did very well! So it can help with your pain, and also help if God forbid you ever run out of your other opiates, that can also help with withdrawal, as I could literally skip a day and not feel a thing! Now coming off methadone can be very hard, or really easy, depending on the person, but I was on 85 mg at my highest, but if you're not comfortable using it, then your doctor should not be forcing you to take it!! I understand how this can happen. I am a person with a slow metabolism and hypothyroidism. I have been on Methadone for 7 years at 15 mg a day. Even after 20 days it still shows up. I have been through nursing school and understand how drugs stay in everyone differently. The only way to find out is to get a lab report that shows the levels of drugs in your system, but it certainly is possible for someone with many fat cells to test positive for up to 6 months after their last dose.
