Why Dilaudid Doesn't Make Me Sleepy Anymore

Does anyone know why Dilaudid doesn't make me sleepy anymore? When I first started taking it I was very drowsy and now I don't fall asleep anymore. Nor do I get drowsy. Is this normal?

Such side effects usually only last for a few weeks, while your body is getting used to the medication, then they taper off. Thus, it shouldn't make you drowsy, all the time, if you're taking it regularly.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Have you discussed the issue with your doctor? They may be able to prescribe something to help you sleep.

This is common with opiates. Usually if you are taking it for too long your body starts to respond as though it where on "speed". You may also experience difficulty ejaculating. The best thing to do is kick for ~3 days.
