I can not find this exact pill anywhere. Does anybody know exactly what it is? It has 44 148 on one side and 500 on the opposite side and is a white round pill. I believe it is pretty old and discontinued maybe and that's why I'm having a hard time.

This tablet is now manufactured by Teva Pharmaceuticals and they have stopped printing the 500 on the opposite side. Teva lists it as containing 500mgs of Acetaminophen, which is a generic, or store brand of extra strength Tylenol. So yes, the one you've found is old.
The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, headache, dizziness, and stomach upset.
These are also available in some first aid kits.
This medication is most commonly used to treat fever, dizziness, and moderate aches/pains.
