As many as you are prescribed. If this doesn't work you should discuss with your PCP and possibly change to oxycodone 5/325. Even though the amount of aspirin (325mg) is lower than others too much can have adverse effects on your liver and kidneys. That is more to worry about for sure.

I agree with your perception of what might be the next step up from hydrocodone prescriptions; and also the concern of "acetaminophen" toxicity (I'm assuming you meant to say that instead of aspirin - as to my knowledge I don't think they make combinations of aspirin [acetylsalicylic acid] with pain meds), is that correct?

Something else that may be worth noting is that oxycodone 5mg is available without acetaminophen as well, so you can easily avoid those toxicity concerns altogether if need be.

Qualitest has a 5mg oxycodone tab with the following imprint: "V" on one side and "48 10" (divided by a score line) on the other.
