White-coat Hypertension-does It Require Bp Drugs For Life?
UpdatedHi, I have white coat hypertension. Has anyone on the board tried taking Lisinopril, or another ACE Inhibitor to deal with BP spikes. I have read that discontinuing it does not cause BP rebound, so it seems that it could be used for dealing with brief episodes of high BP without essential hypertension. I wanted to find out because the drug side-effects being too severe, serious and numerous make it virtually impossible to take it on a regular basis.
Many thanks.

There are many natural alternatives for blood pressure control, that in my opinion can be more effective than prescription medication if taken seriously. So no, I don't think hypertension requires any sort of medication for life as long as you're eating right, exercising daily, and living in an otherwise stress free environment.
I personally had severe hypertension, but was able to control it by controlling my eating habits and exercising. What works for me may not work for everyone, but my initial advice is to look into natural ways such as: Low/no sodium foods to help reduce inflammation and water retention; supplementation of garlic, as well as having a diet that is high in fruit and veggies is the best fix in my opinion, due to their high potassium and magnesium contents.
Other options for lowering blood pressure might include, cannabis, meditating, yoga, essential oils, aerobic exercise, and more.
I hope this helps!
Thank you David. That is very hopeful and optimistic. I am definitely going to work on the suggestions here. Thanks for your help.
