White Watson 853

So recently I received a white Watson 853 that looks identical to the yellow ones; size, shape, imprint. Everything checks out except it does not feel as strong as the yellow. I was then told that Watson is not manufacturing yellow ones anymore so I checked the Watson/actavis website. They had no info on white 853. Are these fake?

Hi Michael,

Where a bouts did you get the pill from? If you didn't purchase it from an authorized seller, you could most definitely have a counterfeit. The only other thing I can think of, is that it may just be an old version that is no longer on the market.

I received the white Watson 853 pills from Walgreens. Pharmacy tech said that it's the same as the yellow ones but I'm not convinced. I e-mailed Actavis last night but have not received a reply yet. They white ones seem weaker than the yellow ones to me.

I received the white ones from walgreens as well and they don't feel strong as the yellow I had received last month. Would like to know ow what has happened.

I reveivef the white 853 from Walgreens, andI still dealing with the pain. What can I do. Tjere must be s wsy to test pills and sue Eslgreens.

The white pills are on Watson's website actavis.com under us product page NDC: 00591-2612-05 which contain an active ingredient of 10mg of hydrocodone bitarate and 325mg of APAP You can contact Watson at 800) 272-5525 if you have any questions regarding this medication. You can also ask walgreens if they carry another generic. I was previously prescribed the same medication and previously got the yellow watson 853, but now have the white. Their is no difference in the pills from my perspective.

This is bulls***, just got a 180 pill bottle of these, they are NOT the same as the yellow ones, they dont get rid of the pain at all, and now I have to wait 30 days till I can go to CVS and get some that actually work (the yellow pills with the V's on them)

I really haven't noticed a difference, but you obviously have. I was told by the pharmacist at Walgreen that yellow ones were not going to be in stock. I hope when you go to CVS they will have what you want. Please let us know if that is the case, and also maybe what state you live in, so we can see if this is a geographical issue for watson, or something else.

I live in Addison, IL 20 mins from downtown Chicago. These white watson norcos are 1/3 the strength that the yellow ones were, there has to be something going on.

Right now unfortunately for me their is no euphoria with these as I just had sugery and was given massive doses of Diludiad and Oxycotin. They had me on 120 mg of Oxy a day after my surgery, so right now everything tastes....... Vanilla.

I have been on hydrocode yellow 10-325, for over a year. I to had received the new white ones and was in such pain for 4 days, I finally had my dr. Send for brand name necessary, and got name brand Norco, and guess what, they work just like they used to. There is definitely something up with these new meds, I think they took note than yellow dye out,

I just posted on another thread, but please call watson if you are experiencing the drop in quality with the white version. I, too, have had a horrendous week because of their "little" tweak and am furious. Watson has received a lot of complaints according to the woman I spoke to. But she stuck with the yellow dye story. I explained that there is absolutely NO way they could be the same. I have yellow left over from last month and finally switched back last night and saw a dramatic difference. It's not psychological considering I have been in WD this week and thought I was just sick until I took a yellow one. That's when it all really clicked. So please call them. It is criminal if they reduced the quality for profit and are now denying it. Their number is easy enough to find. Call them!

Well, finally got a refill and switched the script back to CVS, the little yellow pills with the V's on them, WHAT A DIFFERENCE omg, the first day I had them I took 3 in the morning like I was used to taking with the white watsons, and it was WAY too much, I felt like I was overdosing, Watson is doing something illegal, and someone needs to get to the bottom of it.

It seems like we all are in agreement that these new watson white 853 which we were coerced into taking DO NOT WORK!!! since Watson was bought out by Activis Pharmaceuticals it seems like they are using the same but much cheaper ingredients to increase profit margins. I also heard that Activis which is a fortune 500 company is also moving from new jersey to Ireland to save on taxes. this company is all about money which is fine until you start messing with ingredients that are cheaper so you make more profit. and are hurting the 1000s of people who take this medication. this company is a DISGRACE and should be investigated

I HAVE BEEN WAKING UP EARLY WITH EXCRUCIATING BACK PAIN IDK IF THIS IS WITHDRAWAL BUT ITS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE. I BELIEVE THEY DID NOT PUT ANY HYDROCODONE IN THESE IF SO ITS BARELY ANYTHING AND DEFINATELY NOT THE 10 MG THAT ITS SUPPOSED TO BE. White Watson 853's - noticed that the lettering on some is slightly blurrier or wider and the pill itself very slightly smaller - could this just normal variations between batches or are these being widely counterfitted? Anyone know of a reliable online company that will test them for ingredients and strength? Or is there an accurate home test you can buy ? Thanks

I have been in pain management for 15 years. I have opted to stay on hydrocodone after my doctor switched me to oxycontin and morphine and I had bad experiences with them. I have just recently (in the past 3 days) been taking the white Watson 853, and it has been awful. There is little to no pain relief, and the side effects are unreal. I went on the internet to see if there were similar complaints and am overwhelmed by the fact that patients have been complaining about this for so long and apparently nothing is being done. It is hard enough having your voice heard regarding pain management without having pharmaceutical companies blatantly taking advantage of us as well.

I actually printed out a couple of pages from this site, and my doctor told me she had heard a similar report from two of her elderly patients, who are typically in a group more sensitive to medication. This might at least supportive in preventing the dr from tossing you. It's infuriating that a single company is possibly leaving serious pain patients under-medicated, but even worse that these patients are at risk of getting NO care if they attempt to complain to their physician. I hope physicians are eventually willing to look more logically at issues like this instead of assuming pain patients are just building a tolerance or abusing. The risk of abuse and, thus, liability, comes second to nothing for SO many doctors. Some likely deserve to be used for negatively impacting the quality of life of patients by refusing to treat or under-medicating based on assumptions or fears. If someone has a well-documented issue, and it is one that typically causes PAIN, they are not at risk in any way and should TRUST before assuming dishonest motivation.

I am, thankfully, off of all pain meds now. My pain is minimal after treatment, but not everyone will experience relief (possibly ever depending on the issues) and these companies are gaming the system. Period. Whatever the FDA is overlooking here, I hope they figure it out soon. Good luck.

I too am beyond upset, especially now since after using walgreens for the last 9 months all the sudden my dr is too far away for them to fill my norco LOL i am in shock my dr is in same county just 2 towns over. so since i have NO CAr and had to ask a woman i never met before to drive me to my appt i had no choice but to go where i knew theyd fill one of my prescriptions , target, and they have the 2nd WORST ones!! qualitest! HORRIBLE..i was only on 4 a day but since the watson bs my dr upped them by ONE a day (which he threatened to discharge me as a patient after HE UPPED i didnt ask) and i just took 2 at a time and NOTHING..i am in shock disgusted etc..i have been takin amneal the last 2 months and they were also horrible. but if i took 1 1/2 at a time i was fine. now this bs with 2 at a time..something is SERIOUSLY WRONG! i am being forced to work and i have no idea how im gonna work in this pain. UNBELIEVABLE - has there been a recall on the qualitest??? they are worse then the new watson are! are you able to have the pill tested with that detection website?? to find out there is no hydrocodone in the pillS?? that is the only way anyone will get in any trouble.
