It's interesting you mentioned that because "most" of the images I found have been oval blue pills. I did however come across a legitimate photo of the one you're describing (elliptical, white, imprinted with WATSON 540) at:
rxlist.com/vicodin-hp-drug/patient-images-side-effects.htm
NOTE: the dosage of the white pill is confirmed to be the same as the blue pill (500mgs of Acetaminophen + 10mgs of Hydrocodone).
Manufacturer: Watson Laboratories, Inc.
Although the way a pill looks is entirely up to the whit and whim of the company making it, it would definitely help if they let patients know before hand that they were receiving something that looked totally different and to not be alarmed.
I hope this info helps!
Where did you find it?
All of the current prescription drug databases still list it as being blue, but if it has been changed, it may take awhile for them to incorporate the updated information.
When it comes down to it, the color actually means nothing and is entirely up to the whit and whim of the manufacturer and they can change it at any time, all they have to do is let the FDA know.
However, being unable to verify whether or not this is the 10/500mg generic for Vicodin, I'd suggest just disposing of it to be safe.
You can learn more Vicodin details here.
Hello I also take Loratab 10/500 and I have been told that they have quit making the blue Watson pills and have went with the white Watson pill same shape same number. What is the difference because with the white "m363" I can't ever tell that I took it so will that be how the new white Watson is as well?
It seems that more and more of these are turning up as the blue ones currently in pharmacies get depleted. It seems they are changing the color of the pill to white, and if it's anything like past changes for prescription pills, i.e. Dan 5513 (generic Soma used to be slightly powdery, but now not any powdery), then they won't feel/be the same as the blue ones....the government takes a dim view of anyone taking pain medicine....so they give big pharma huge tax breaks to lower the dosage in their products so we have to buy more and in turn PAY more to big pharma....
I have found a package containing whate it says is 10/500mg hydrocodone bitertrate with acetaminophen and it is completely white with no markings but package says watson
