White Watson 10mg 325 #853 (Page 5)

Updated

I just recieved a new prescription of norco 853 10/325. The last script was yellow and the new ones are white. The pharmacist said that Watson changed the color but the pill is the same, does anyone know if this is accurate?

Julie, I need to quote your very first post. " the white Norco not being strong is all in your heads." I only quote this bc you said you never said this and that you only said "for some it is psychological." Now, they may have worked for your husband but I have seen far more complaints than I have otherwise. Just bc you have a degree in psychology does not mean you know all about meds & their reactions, or lack thereof. I'm not being rude, just stating facts.

Julie, why do you keep coming back? Do you enjoy upsetting and insulting people on here? How old are you supposed to be?People here have serious health issues and this great site is for them,me included, who have had issues with this pain medication.I have serious doubts that you have a degree in anything.Didn't you say in one of your rants that this site was for losers?

I worded it wrong, meaning to say for SOME it is psychological. Again, I am sorry. Please stop this now and move on. I don't claim to know all about medications and again, the post was worded improper. There are complaints about the white Norco and there are some who have no problem with it. Time to move on.....julie

Julie - you've filled at least two pages of what began as an informative thread with unnecessary, vitrolic responses; the only information you've actually provided has been to show everyone how to troll like an amateur.

Julie, like I said, I am not being rude. Just thought I would quote your very first response to this thread and now, the fact that you didn't "clarify" what you meant, which was obvious, until someone called you on it. Everyone is different, everyone metabolizes meds differently, and I have to say, with all the complaints on the new Watson hydro/APAP, I am inclined to believe there IS something wrong with them. The complaints come from all over the US and since they have been out for a little while, I don't believe it's a batch problem, IMO. I don't usually take narcs but last week I was prescribed this drug and got the new watsons and they made me extremely ill and did not touch my pain at all. I thought it was just me until I came across the posts about it. Just saying..

Your the troll and I am sick of getting messages like this. I did post about Norco and everytime I do, someone like YOU comes on starts up....I do not need this from you. I am taking notes on this site for research at my practice. Please, move on or get help. Thank you.

That's cool. I have been hearing that from some patients. Yes, you are right, I did not clarity and Tom had me so upset I regressed to my teen years!! I have a feeling Watson is going to make some changes with this Norco. Best of luck.

Julie, all is ok. We all tend to get a bit testy at times & speak (write) without thinking! I do hope Watson goes back to their original formula. I don't plan on being on them long but it would be nice to be able to go back to my big pharmacy for my meds as I like to travel on spur of the moment notice and going to my small pharmacy makes this near impossible. I would like to go see my kids, 4 hours away, and not have to hurry home to get refills! I would love to be completely med free but with my injury that may never be possible. Oh well, what do we do, right?

I agree. I am on so much medication (6 herniated discs, degenerative disc disease, neuropathy) I am blessed to be able to do what I do, but some day are awful. I was on Norco for a long time, but became immune more or less. I get injections now. I hope they return to the yellows for the sake of all those who are suffering.....take care.

I also hope, for everyone else that is having a problem, that Watson goes back to original. Some people don't have the luxury a many pharm choices without driving at least an hour away and, as someone with a lower back injury of which my rt SI joint was fused, it is difficult to drive/ride all the time. The whole narcotic business has gotten way too screwed up! There is no reason we should be made to suffer as we do, and some even worse. Even with dang good documentation it is very difficult to find docs who are willing to prescribe what is needed to help their patients. I have seen this from both sides of the spectrum, as a chronic pain patient and as a nurse taking care of CPP's. it's a crazy world we live in and I don't see things in the world of CP getting much better!

Tracy,I couldn't agree with you more. With the medical know how and technology there is no excuse for us having to live in pain the way most of us do when the help is there.Doctor's do not want to prescribe the pain medications legitimate patient's need because they are monitored,I doubt they ever will. Most are too afraid. The narcotic business needs a major overhaul, and the people who go to doctor for pain medications who only want the high or to sell them need to have something to fear to make them think twice before obtaining these narcotics when they do not need them. They have really hurt the legitimate patients who must have these narcotics for some type of quality of life.We are the one's who suffer.I was going to pain management until I saw what looked like a human assembly line for epidurals, and if you didn't get them when they told you too,you were dismissed.I discovered they made quite a bit of money with these procedures.I had just been given an epidural and two weeks later I was told i had to come in for another that I didn't need. The first one worked.I tried to explain this to them and I was told to show up or be dismissed.I was dismissed. Now,I have a doctor who gives me pain meds that barely help with my pain from rheumatoid arthritis.Even with the deformities and my limp,he won't prescribe the strength I need. What are we supposed to do anymore?

Hi Tracy: I don't see things getting to much better either, but Watson is such a HUGE company and these complaints they are getting from those affected by this new Norco just may turn it around. Pain management is crazy, the DEA even crazier and the pharmaceutical companies are all about the mighty old dollar. If not for my health insurance I'd be in a bind. We all would. As I have stated I am hearing this from some of my patients, and then others are fine. I think the more people that write or call Watson, they more they be inclined to do something. They could even sell both, the white and yellow and doctors could prescribe what the patient wants. It would work for those allergic to the dye. Good luck.....:)

Ugh!! Enough Amanda....stop already. Tracy, I responded to your post but it is not there yet.....Yes, this is a crazy world!! And Watson doing this with Norco has apparently screwed up for some....I'll post to you again later. J :)

Tracy: I feel Watson should just go ahead and make both the white and yellow Norco. This way patients can choose for themselves. Those allergic to the dye can get the white ones. That is why Watson did this. I have patients complaining and others not. I hope you get some relief.....:)

Tracy: I meant to tell you, even our Walgreens here does not have the yellow Norco anymore, my husband has gotten the white. Walgreens are everywhere in my area and they don't even have the yellow Norco anymore. I guess its just not the mom and pop pharms. I am going to ask the pharmacist, who I know well, what his take is on this. I'll get back to you. :)

I must reiterate that these new white norcos are terrible, much less effective, with a drowsy side effect, the yellow ones were effective, and dare I say there was even a positive side effect of increased energy, or even some euphoria on days when pain was less severe.

It would likely be some time, if ever before the manufacturer, which is now called Activis would acknowledge the concerns, or even make changes, with that said I would be interested to hear peoples thoughts on alternative manufacturers of 10/325 generic Norco, in the order from what they think is best to worst & perhaps why since I will be looking to change manufacturers on the next refill. I do not wish to suffer any longer, especially because some bean counter at Activis decided to cheapen the medication

Are you saying that Watson is now Activus????

All I can say is wow...I think everyone here would love to review the responses you get from your question regarding different manufacturers. I will be getting another script soon and want a different batch this time, I have been suffering for about a week till this past Tues when I paid 150 for the name brand Norco (which gave me relief for the first time) just to hear my pharmacist tell me there is no difference in the name brand and generic except the 150 vs 5 copay. I said well who in there right mind would pay for the name brand which is 145 difference if they were the same. I promise you they took something out of the generic brand. Go get the name brand Norco and prove me wrong.
