White Oval Pill E6 48

This pill was in my bottle of metformin from the pharmacists.i only noticed because it was just a bit smaller than the metformin. What is it?

I actually came across a half white and half pink oblong shaped pill imprinted "E648" that is identified as Diphenhydramine hydrochloride 25 mg. You didn't mention pink being part of the color, but it's the only match that comes up under that description.

I'd probably suggest taking it over to your local pharmacy to have them check it out if this doesn't sound like it fits the bill.
