what i thought to be WHITE was NOT white, but actually an incredibly light teal/greenish colour

That has happened many times, it's why I always tell people that colors are subjective. What's red to one person may be pink to the next and etc.
As to this tablet, I actually can't find any listings for an oval/oblong one with this marking and I've tried several databases.
