When Will I Get My Period?

So I'm going on a trip in 8 days (May 31st) and I really don't want to be on my period during it. I'm suppose to get my period in 5 days. I just got birth control pills for the first time today. If I start taking the pills now even though I don't have my period yet, will that postpone my period until after my trip (I come home on June 6th)? Please help!!

I'm not sure if it varies according to brand, so you may want to confirm this with your doctor/gynecologist first, but yes, it is possible and common for many women to skip or delay periods by only taking certain color tablets.

Hi Jenna,
To the best of my knowledge, I would think that since you have probably already ovulated, the pill won't stop your period this month. If it were earlier in the month, you'd have better luck. Hope it doesn't totally spoil your vacation.
