When To Start Suboxone After Methadone

I've been on methadone for 260 days. I got up to 90. I then tapered down 2 a day until I got to 60. Then went down 5 every Monday. I took 20 on monday at 6am and haven't had anything since. It's now thursday. My withdraws were s****y but now are getting a bit better NOT worse. Can I start my suboxone yet? It's been over 72 hours since my last methadone dose. Please help!!

According to commentary in related threads here, the overall consensus significantly varies as to how long one should wait before taking suboxone after methadone. Many people have suggested waiting a minimum of 72 hours (3 days) due to methadone's long half life. Others have stated that they were fine waiting only 10 hours. I suppose only you and your prescribing doctor can be your best judge of when and how much you should take for the intended level of relief... But if I had to throw in my opinion, I'd say that you should be in the clear by now, if not close.
