I am 87 years old . Have ben on Urimax 0.4mj for nealy a decade. Recent ultrasound showed retension of urine is nearly 50%.So I am advised to stop Urimax and take Silodal 8mg once every night 10 P.M.. Why should Silodalbe preferable to Urimax.? Should Urimax be taken in the nightbefore going to bed? I have been taking it at 4-5 P.M.

I am 73 years old ,my prostate enlarged 30 and PSA was 6.6 to 8.my doctor gave me rrinex 0.4 mg and one levofloxocine 500 mg daily for 5 to 6 months,my urine problem as I was not able to pass urine and there was pain before clearing urine .after 5 months the problem of pain disappeared and now I got my prostate diagnostics in with results of 17 cc prostate and 5.8 PSA. but I use to go 3 to 4 times urine at night. now doctor prescribed silo dal 8 mg and derifenacine hydro bromide 15 mg. for 30 days. i am taking medicines for the last 10 days. problem passing urine has been solved. i want to know whether prostate problem for avoiding such problem if surgery can eliminate all than please advice me should I go for surgery.

I am 73yrs and taking Hytrine 2/3mg at bed time daily for enlarged prostate(Wt.31) .When I start taking silodal 8 and Tolterodine Tartrate cap one time only for better flow as adviced by Dr.,my urine comes dip by dip and find difficult to pass urine.Kindly let me know the reason.

Why is Silodal (8mg) Preferred to Urimax (f). What is the duration when it shows its effects and how much period it should be taken for complete cure to prevent retention of urine?

It may simply be that after so many years, your body has gotten used to the Tamsulosin in the Urimax, so it's just no longer helping you.
