Oxycontin is a time released medication, so it is not safe to cut or break the tablet, you could be getting too much of the medication at once, which may explain why you are getting sick, according to FDA reports. It is also warned that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth.

Are you on any other medications?
